Rochdale moved within a point of the National League play-off places thanks to a 2-0 win which sent struggling Fylde bottom of the table.

Ian Henderson put Dale on course for a first victory in four league matches by lifting the ball over visiting goalkeeper Theo Richardson just before the break.

Rochdale keeper Louie Moulden produced fine saves to prevent a second-half equaliser, denying substitute Danny Ormerod and then Jon Ustabasi.

Fylde captain Harry Davis also went close with a header before Dale substitute Kwaku Oduroh put the result beyond doubt with a breakaway goal five minutes into added time.

Barnet moved within 10 points of the Vanarama National League summit courtesy of a 2-0 Boxing Day victory at Southend.

With leaders Chesterfield losing, Barnet consolidated third place by collecting three points at Roots Hall.

The triumph was wrapped up 12 minutes from time when Harry Pritchard hammered in a penalty after Nicke Kabamba had been fouled by Southend goalkeeper Collin Andeng Ndi.

Bromley cut the gap at the top of the Vanarama National League with a 3-2 win at Ebbsfleet.

The Ravens took an early lead in the ninth minute as Michael Cheek turned in Corey Whitely’s cross from six yards.

Ebbsfleet equalised in the 53rd minute when Dominic Poleon slotted in at the far post, but Ben Krauhaus soon restored Bromley’s lead with an 18-yard effort.

Olufela Olomola added a well-taken third with 15 minutes left before Poleon hit a late second for the visitors.

Daggers substitute Keenan Appiah-Forson, on loan from West Ham, curled a shot into the top corner with 20 minutes left before defender Tom Eastman bundled in from close range and Effiong struck a late fourth.

Gateshead kept themselves in the Vanarama National League play-off mix after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with York.

Gateshead were forced into a change just before the break when Joe Grayson went off injured and replaced by Mamadou Jobe.

Fallowfield saw a goal ruled out early in the second half for offside and full-back Kyran Lofthouse secured Gateshead a point with eight minutes left when he slotted in following a short corner.

Aldershot and Woking played out an entertaining Boxing Day draw in the Vanarama National League.

The two sides meet again in the reverse fixture on New Year’s Day with nothing separating them in this contest at the Electrical Services Stadium.

Both goalkeepers put on fine performances, with Jordi Van Stappershoef saving brilliantly from Woking striker Padraig Amond in the first half.

At the other end, Woking stopper Alexis Andre Jr’s late save to deny Lorent Tolaj meant that it was a day where goalkeepers were on top as the spoils were shared.

Ashley Hemmings hit a last-gasp penalty to earn Kidderminster a 1-1 draw at Boreham Wood and take them off the foot of the National League.

The Harriers looked on course for a third successive defeat only for Hemmings to secure a point from the spot late on.

Billy Sass-Davies headed home from a corner early in the second half as Wood made the most of their superior possession.

But Kidderminster held on and left Meadow Park with a share of the spoils as Hemmings tucked home a penalty after Krystian Pearce had been tripped in the box.

Sean Jordan Adarkwa continued his fine form by setting Wealdstone on course for a 2-0 Vanarama National League victory at fellow mid-table side Maidenhead.

Forward Adarkwa, who hit a hat-trick in Saturday’s 4-4 draw with Hartlepool, took his tally to six goals in five games by curling home a spectacular 12th-minute effort from the edge of the hosts’ 18-yard box.

A goal in either half proved enough for the visitors as Millenic Alli’s opener was added to by Jamie Cooke.

Alli struck nine minutes before the break with a finish from the edge of the box and the points were secured when Cooke hit a long-range effort, with Chris Conn-Clarke scoring a late consolation for the hosts.

The win takes Halifax level on 39 points with sixth-placed Altrincham, with only a superior goal difference keeping the home side ahead.

Oxford City boosted their Vanarama National League survival hopes with a 2-0 win at fellow strugglers Dorking.

Wanderers were forced into a couple of early changes through injuries to captain Barry Fuller and then forward Harry Ottaway before the visitors almost took the lead in the 28th minute when Josh Parker’s effort was blocked on the line.

Oxford eventually broke the deadlock with 15 minutes left when Renny Smith slotted in following a swift counter-attack.

Captain Reece Fleet added a second on the break in stoppage time to leave the Hoops a point from safety but having played two more games than Dorking, who slipped to a third straight defeat.

In-form James Norwood struck twice as Oldham came from behind to beat Hartlepool 3-1 in the Vanarama National League.

Latics top scorer Norwood sealed victory at Victoria Park by tapping home his seventh goal in six appearances – and 14th of the season – from Josh Stones’ cross in the 63rd minute.

The 33-year-old striker had earlier given the visitors a 17th-minute lead, collecting a pass from Wigan loanee Stones to finish beyond Pools goalkeeper Joel Dixon.

Joe Grey marked his 100th Hartlepool appearance by slotting the hosts ahead in the fourth minute but the advantage was short-lived as Stones levelled five minutes later with a neat finish on the turn.

Mark Beck and Callum Maycock struck early goals as Solihull Moors boosted their promotion push with a 2-0 victory over Vanarama National League leaders Chesterfield.

Bromley lost ground to Chesterfield in the race for the National League title after Alex Newby’s injury-time equaliser earned Altrincham a 2-2 draw.

Chris Conn-Clarke put the visitors ahead with 13 minutes gone, but they were down to 10 men shortly after the interval when Elliot Osborne was shown a second yellow card.

Olufela Olomola drew the home side level before Jude Arthurs was dismissed for Bromley moments later.

With both teams reduced to 10, Olomola looked to have sealed the three points when he scored his second of the night after the hour mark, only for Newby to snatch a point at the death.

Bromley are 10 points behind runaway leaders Chesterfield, having played a game more, with Altrincham in sixth.

Vanarama National League leaders Chesterfield made it four league wins in a row with a dominant 4-1 victory over Aldershot.

Ryan Colclough fired the Spireites into the lead in the 65th minute with a strike to the bottom-right corner from the edge of the area and Will Grigg added a third nine minutes later.
