Solihull Moors comfortably saw off Vanarama National League strugglers Woking 3-0 at Damson Park.

Padraig Amond hit a post for Woking in the first minute of the game, but Solihull took the lead in the 42nd minute when James Clarke headed in a corner.

Three minutes after the break the hosts doubled their advantage, this time Callum Maycock scoring on the turn.

Amond had a shot cleared off the line as Woking sought a response, but Mark Beck made sure of the points for Solihull 15 minutes from time with a volley in off a post.

Oldham climbed into the National League play-off places with a 1-0 win away to struggling Dorking.

Mike Fondop got the decisive goal four minutes before half-time, smashing a shot high into the roof of the net after Dorking failed to clear a corner.

The goal came as reward for Oldham’s dominance of the first half, but Dorking threatened an equaliser after the break.

The best chance came just after the hour when Oldham goalkeeper Mathew Hudson made an outstanding double save to deny Jason Prior and Seb Bowerman.

Rochdale returned to winning ways in the National League with a 2-0 victory over bottom side Kidderminster.

It took the hosts, beaten by lowly Fylde last time out, until the 59th minute to break the deadlock at the Crown Oil Arena.

The goal was worth the wait, with Tyrese Sinclair chesting the ball down and hitting a high volley on the turn that looped over keeper Christian Dibble.

Dale doubled their lead in the 71st minute through veteran Ian Henderson’s 10th of the season, the 38-year-old sliding in to convert from a free-kick.

A late double from Gus Scott-Morriss helped Southend to a 3-0 Vanarama National League victory over Halifax.

The hosts took the lead in the third minute when Henry Sandat ran through to score after being played in by Nathan Ralph.

Jamie Cooke went close for Halifax in the 54th minute, but 25 minutes later Scott-Morriss scored his first, with Ralph again the creator.

And Scott-Morriss made it three in the 85th minute, this time nodding in a cross from Jack Bridge.

York ended a run of six games without a win in all competitions in style with a 2-0 victory against promotion hopefuls Gateshead.

Will Davies gave York the lead after just four minutes and goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy kept the home side in front with an excellent close-range save from Marcus Dinanga.

Dinanga was presented with the chance to equalise in first-half stoppage time when Callum Whelan was fouled in the area, but the striker hit his penalty straight down the middle and saw it kept out by the feet of Sykes-Kenworthy.

Dipo Akinyemi, who had been restored to the starting line-up after coming off the bench in the reverse fixture on Boxing Day, sealed the win shortly before the hour mark with his ninth goal of the season following a swift counter-attack.

Aldershot ended a run of three games without a win with an eventful 3-2 victory at Woking.

Lorent Tolaj opened the scoring in the 26th minute as Woking were dispossessed trying to play out from the back, but the home side responded almost immediately as Rhys Browne bundled home the rebound after Tunji Akinola’s shot was saved.

Tolaj then turned provider for Tyler Frost to restore Aldershot’s lead and Jack Barham looked to have secured all three points when he made it 3-1 eight minutes from time.

Reece Grego-Cox pulled one back with a close-range header in the last minute of normal time but the visitors held on for the win despite having Joshua Stokes sent off for a second bookable offence in added time.

Halifax and Altrincham both missed the chance to boost their National League play-off credentials as they held each other to a goalless draw.

Victory for either side would have opened up a two-point gap to Aldershot in eighth, but hosts Halifax failed to take advantage of a second-half red card for the visitors’ striker Matty Kosylo, who was shown a second yellow card after 56 minutes for bringing down Florent Hoti.

Defender Jordan Keane blasted over from close range for the home side after 65 minutes as they sought a victory that would take them fifth.

Jamie Cooke also should have won it when his header was planted too close to goalkeeper Ethan Ross, who saved well.

Dorking pulled four points clear of the National League relegation zone thanks to a 2-1 win at fellow strugglers Oxford City.

The hosts were looking to leapfrog Dorking, who had gone four games without a win, and escape the bottom four but were undone by goals in the second half from Niall McManus, who scored three minutes after coming off the bench, and Sebastian Bowerman.

Oliver Sanderson netted in the fifth minute of stoppage time to offer a glimmer of hope for Oxford.

But Ross Jenkins’ side slipped to a fifth defeat in seven league games to remain three points adrift of 20th-place Woking.

Inih Effiong fired a late equaliser as Dagenham & Redbridge grabbed a point in an eight-goal thriller against Eastleigh at Silverlake Stadium.

The Daggers looked good bets to repeat their crushing 4-1 win on Boxing Day when goals from Tom Eastman and Josh Rees put them 2-0 in front with 35 minutes on the clock.

But a brace from Paul McCallum before half-time and a Jayden Harris header four minutes after the restart swung the game in favour of the hosts.

Rees levelled on 56 but Eastleigh regained their lead when McCallum headed home to complete his hat-trick on 67 minutes, only for Effiong to hammer home from long range 10 minutes from time.

AFC Fylde moved off the bottom of the National League with a 2-0 win over Rochdale in a match marred by a serious injury to visiting winger Jesurun Uchegbulam.

The match was delayed for around 20 minutes as Uchegbulam received treatment before being carried off to a standing ovation, having collided with an advertising hoarding.

Danny Ormerod grabbed a quickfire brace in the 58th and 62nd minutes to give the hosts revenge for their 2-0 defeat at Rochdale on Boxing Day.

The result ended AFC Fylde’s run of eight league games without a win and was enough to nudge them two points clear of Kidderminster in the table.

Will Grigg grabbed the winner as Chesterfield hit back from 2-0 down to beat Solihull Moors 3-2 and regain their seven-point lead at the top of the National League.

Visitors Solihull looked set to repeat their shock Boxing Day success as goals from Matty Warburton and Mark Beck either side of half-time put them in a commanding lead.

But the Spireites responded with three goals in six second-half minutes, starting with a cool finish from Tom Naylor in the 63rd minute to reduce the deficit.

Ryan Colclough levelled when he headed home a corner three minutes later, and Grigg poked home from long range on 69 minutes to complete the turnaround and seal the points for the hosts.

Kidderminster remain just a point off the bottom of the Vanarama National League after suffering a 2-1 defeat at home to Boreham Wood.

Lee Ndlovu fired the visitors into the lead in the 27th minute after being set up by Tom Whelan and made it 2-0 shortly before the interval.

Gold Omotayo headed home from Sam Robinson’s cross to reduce the deficit in first-half stoppage time and Jack Lambert saw a shot crash off the crossbar in the second half before a dramatic climax to the contest.

Amari Morgan-Smith thought he had snatched an equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage time for the home side, only for the referee to blow for a foul in the build-up.

Barnet left it late to beat Southend 1-0 in the Vanarama National League.

Adebola Oluwo met Jordan Cropper’s long throw six minutes from time to send a looping header over Southend goalkeeper Collin Andeng-Ndi.

Finley Potter almost put third-placed Barnet – 2-0 winners at Southend on Boxing Day – ahead after 15 minutes, but he was denied by a wonderful stop from Andeng-Ndi.

Barnet goalkeeper Laurie Walker kept Southend at bay with an excellent one-on-one save from Brooklyn Kabongolo.

Oldham climbed to eighth in the National League table thanks to a 2-0 victory over Hartlepool.

They went ahead inside two minutes as Josh Stones met a diagonal ball with a sweet half-volley into the bottom corner.

The Latics, who have now won five of their last seven league games, pushed for another and James Norwood twice went close early in the second half.

Substitute Anthony Mancini was lively for Hartlepool and forced two saves from Mathew Hudson but Oldham wrapped up the points five minutes from time when Mike Fondop poked home from a corner.

Bromley beat Ebbsfleet 5-1 to complete a quickfire double and maintain the pressure on Vanarama National League leaders Chesterfield.

Struggling Ebbsfleet, beaten 3-2 at home by Bromley on Boxing Day, took a surprise eighth-minute lead through Luke O’Neill’s header.

But second-placed Bromley were ahead at the break through Michael Cheek and Ben Krauhaus.

Alex Kirk smashed home just after the restart, Olufela Olomola added another and Krauhaus completed the rout with his second two minutes from time.
