Gateshead moved into the National League play-off places with a 1-0 win at Southend.

Marcus Dinanga’s first league goal since September earned the visitors a second straight victory and left Southend just two points above the relegation zone.

Dinanga fired wide and Ed Francis was denied by Collin Andeng Ndi in the first half.

Dinanga, who had scored 17 goals in all competitions this season but none inGateshead climb i his last 14 league games, broke the deadlock in the 58th minute following a goalmouth scramble.

Southend pushed for a leveller and hit the woodwork twice in added time, first through Harry Cardwell’s flick-on before Nathan Ralph’s header crashed off the crossbar.

Altrincham moved above Vanarama National League play-off rivals Solihull with a 1-0 win at Damson Park.

Altrincham made most of the running through the early parts of the game and the first chance fell to Justin Amaluzor in the 18th minute but saw his strike slam into the side-netting.

The away side opened the scoring after 31 minutes when Amaluzor found Alex Newby who fired home to make it 1-0.

Altrincham almost doubled their lead just after the hour but Regan Linney’s curling strike was well saved by Nick Hayes.

Solihull went in search of an equaliser and almost had one when a strike deflected off Elliot Osborne and into the path of Matthew Gould as Altrincham held on for all three points.

York and Maidenhead continue to look over their shoulders after being forced to settle for a 1-1 draw in their Vanarama National League clash at the LNER Community Stadium.

Ashley Nathaniel-George gave the visitors the lead with a superb strike after 16 minutes.

York drew level 12 minutes later when Will Davies was on hand to convert after the away side failed to deal with a cross from Scott Burgess.

The Minstermen had the better of the second half with Dipo Akinyemi hitting the post but were unable to force a winner.

Aldershot staged a second-half fightback as they came from a goal down to beat Halifax 2-1 in the National League.

Goals from Lorent Tolaj and Kwame Thomas turned the game on its head.

Halifax took the lead through Max Wright’s 38th-minute opener into the top corner.

The visitors equalised four minutes into the second half when Tolaj converted Ryan Glover’s cross from close range.

And the comeback was completed by Thomas’ 69th-minute volley.

AFC Fylde extended their unbeaten National League run to five games with a 3-1 victory at fellow strugglers Dorking.

Jonathan Ustabasi scored a first-half brace before Connor Ellis Barrett’s 71st-minute strike made it four wins in five matches.

The Coasters took a 1-0 lead in the 37th minute after Ustabasi scored from close range and he then grabbed another in first half added time.

Fylde made it 3-0 in the 71st minute after Barrett beat his marker with a quality turn of pace and found the bottom corner.

Dorking grabbed a consolation in second half added time through Matt Briggs.

Kidderminster fought back from two goals down to beat fellow relegation battlers Oxford City 3-2 at Aggborough and continue their winning run under Phil Brown.

Basement boys Oxford City looked set to leapfrog Kidderminster in the National League drop zone after a first half that saw Josh Parker score a header and a penalty either side of Brown being shown a red card.

But the hosts turned things around after the break, with Amari Morgan-Smith pulling a goal back just before the hour mark and Jack Lambert equalising in the 74th minute.

Substitute Gold Omotayo completed the comeback four minutes later as Kidderminster made it four wins out of four in the league since Brown replaced Russell Penn as boss last month and moved up two spots to 21st, below 20th-placed Fylde on goal difference.

Inih Effiong’s first-half brace saw Dagenham secure a 2-1 victory over Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

Effiong put the visitors in front with a ninth-minute finish having been played in by Sam Ling.

Rochdale were back on level terms when Tyrese Sinclair curled into the top corner in the 40th minute.

Effiong then struck again with what would prove the winner in stoppage time before the break, powering a penalty past Tiernan Brooks to take him to 12 National League goals for the season.

Ben Strevens’ Daggers move up a couple of places to 14th in the table, while Jimmy McNulty’s Dale stay ninth.

Kamarl Grant’s own goal consigned promotion contenders Bromley to a 2-1 National League home defeat to Hartlepool.

Corey Whitely teed up Michael Cheek for the opener, a powerful close-range finish to fire the hosts ahead in the ninth minute.

It was all square by the halfway point, however, after Emmanuel Dieseruvwe nodded in Nicky Featherstone’s cross in the 27th minute.

Joe Grey had picked out Dieseruvwe after the restart, but his cross instead connected with the unfortunate Grant, who turned the winner into his own net on the hour.

Kwame Thomas scored a last-gasp equaliser as Aldershot squandered a two-goal lead before coming back to draw 3-3 with Wealdstone.

Aldershot opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Josh Stokes slipped through to Jack Barham, who coolly slotted past Marcus Dewhurst to make it 1-0.

The Shots doubled their advantage four minutes later when captain Lorent Tolaj collected a pass from Ryan Glover before tucking into the corner.

The hosts responded with two goals in a matter of minutes just after the half-hour mark, Sean Adarkwa with the first before Nathan Ferguson coolly finished beyond Jordi van Stappershoef.

Wealdstone completed the turnaround two minutes after the break when Michael Obiero spotted Van Stappershoef off his line and looped a clever finish over the keeper – and were on their way to victory until Thomas headed home in injury time.

Dion Pereira hit a fine late equaliser as Dagenham came from behind to earn a share of the spoils at Vanarama National League rivals Solihull.

The hosts had looked on course for victory after Josh Kelly’s second-half penalty but had to settle for a 1-1 draw after Pereira’s solo strike.

With little to separate the sides it was Solihull who took the lead from the spot, Kelly dusting himself off having won the penalty to send Elliot Justham the wrong way.

The Daggers, though, would leave Damson Park with a point as Pereira cut in from the right and curled home.

Caleb Richards’ second-half strike helped Kidderminster move to within a single point of safety in the National League following a 1-0 win at Dagenham.

The Harriers had seen off Aldershot and Hartlepool in the last week but came under pressure from their opponents as the first half progressed, with Sam Ling’s effort having to be cleared off the line.

But the visitors went ahead after 51 minutes as Richards collected Shane Byrne’s cute pass and thumped the ball beyond Daggers goalkeeper Elliot Justham and into the far corner.

Josh Rees had a chance to level soon after but miscued his finish and Kidderminster weathered the pressure in the final half hour to hold on and claim what could be an important win in their bid to beat the drop.

Barnet’s play-off push suffered a setback after Gateshead came from behind to win 2-1.

The visitors, sitting third in the Vanarama National League table, started brightly, with Nicke Kabamba forcing an early save from Gateshead keeper Eddie Beach.

Anthony Hartigan’s shot from outside the area was deflected onto the post before the Bees eventually went in front through Kabamba’s header in the 29th minute.

Gateshead equalised just before the hour when Luke Hannant sent a volley into the top corner and Kain Adom completed the turnaround with 10 minutes left after a break down the right.

Altrincham moved up to fourth in the National League after dispatching Eastleigh 4-0.

The Robins started to get on top after a quiet opening and were rewarded in the 32nd minute as Regan Linney burst through on goal before selflessly squaring for Lewis Banks to slot home from close range.

The provider then turned goalscorer in first-half added-on time, although he had a bit of fortune as his strike took a wicked deflection before beating Joe McDonnell and nestling in the bottom corner.

Eastleigh goalkeeper McDonnell made a hash of gathering Chris Conn-Clarke’s shot and Alex Newby tucked away the rebound six minutes after the resumption.

Conn-Clarke then added gloss to the scoreline in the 87th minute after bundling past McDonnell.

Woking boosted their Vanarama National League survival hopes with a 1-0 win at play-off hopefuls Oldham.

The Cards, on the back of a three-match losing run, started brightly as an angled shot from forward Dennon Lewis went wide before Oldham midfielder Tom Conlon sent a free-kick just over the bar.

Woking saw a goal ruled out late in the first half from a header by Scott Cuthbert for offside in the build-up

The visitors took the lead a minute after the restart through Jermaine Anderson, which proved enough to secure a crucial three points and move Woking out of the relegation zone, above Ebbsfleet on goal difference.

Solihull Moors saw their Vanarama National League play-off push dented with a 2-1 defeat at Maidenhead.

The Magpies took the lead in the 11th minute when Tobi Sho-Silva knocked in a rebound after Sam Barratt’s shot had been saved by Moors goalkeeper Nick Hayes.

Josh Kelly equalised for Solihull in the 36th minute after he got on the end of Alex Whitmore’s ball into the Maidenhead penalty area.

Barratt restored Maidenhead’s lead with 20 minutes left when he fired a long-range shot into the bottom corner before Solihull captain Jamey Osborne saw his effort cleared off the line in stoppage time.
