Second-half goals from Jason Prior and Tom Blair secured two wins in a week for Dorking as they battled to a 2-0 victory at Hartlepool.

There was little to choose between the sides in a nip-and-tuck first half, although Hartlepool goalkeeper Pete Jameson had to be alert to tip away Dan Gallagher’s header from a corner.

George Francomb did well to scramble clear at the beginning of the second half then turned provider for the opener, with his corner to the back post headed home by Prior in the 63rd minute.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe thought he had levelled but his tap-in was chalked off for offside before Blair sealed the points for Dorking, who defeated Ebbsfleet in midweek, after drilling low across Jameson.

Solihull extended their unbeaten start in the National League to 13 matches after being held in a see-saw 2-2 draw at York.

Dipo Akinyemi had twice gone close for York before Thierry Latty-Fairweather gave them the lead just before half-time, sweeping the ball home at the far post.

The Minstermen’s advantage was short-lived as Solihull drew level three minutes into the second period when Callum Maycock squeezed in a shot from a tight angle after being played in by Josh Kelly.

Kelly headed Solihull in front with a looping effort from Danny Newton’s free-kick, but York levelled it up again through Maz Kouhyar, who lashed home a half-cleared free-kick.

Sam Bowen’s fine strike proved to be the difference as Wealdstone beat Woking in the Vanarama National League.

The hosts had won just one of their previous seven games before Bowen struck from the edge of the box to seal a 1-0 victory.

Bowen’s goal came just after the 15-minute mark and he almost repeated the feat five minutes later but this time shot wide.

Goalkeeper Jed Ward made a number of crucial saves to keep Woking at bay as the home side secured the points.

Elliot Justham saved Dagenham and Redbridge a point as his side held on for a goalless draw against Halifax at The Shay.

Justham produced a fine late stop to deny Millenic Alli on a night of frustration for both sides who each extend their National League winless streaks to five games.

Justham had tipped over a curling effort from Angelo Cappello towards the end of the first half, before his opposite number Sam Johnson denied a Dagenham chance for Ryan Hill.

Johnson was back in action just before the hour mark when he produced a superb save to deny Nikola Tavares, but neither side had the cutting edge required to make a breakthrough.

Bromley remained hot on the heels of the National League frontrunners after a 1-0 win at home to Eastleigh.

The hosts’ five-game winning run had ended at the weekend when they drew with Solihull, but they returned to winning ways on Tuesday.

Chin Okoli scored the game’s only goal 33 minutes in, crashing in a header from Lewis Leigh’s cross.

Grant Smith made some fine saves to keep Bromley in it, while substitute Bim Pepple hit a post for the home side in time added on.

Marcus Dinanga hit a brace as Gateshead thrashed Vanarama National League rivals Oxford City at the RAW Charging Stadium.

The former Burton striker has been in fine form since moving to the North East and was the star of the show in a comfortable 4-0 win.

Dinanga bundled the ball over the line to break the deadlock with his 10th of the season before he doubled up for the night after the interval.

Captain Greg Olley secured the points as a fine Connor McBride stoppage-time effort rounded off an impressive display.

Owen Evans grabbed a late equaliser for AFC Fylde as they fought back to earn a 2-2 draw against Boreham Wood in the National League.

Angelo Balanta’s double in the 24th and 72nd minutes looked set to help the visitors respond to Saturday’s home defeat to Aldershot.

Fylde, who broke a four-game losing streak by winning at Southend at the weekend, grabbed a 17th-minute lead through Danny Whitehead.

But after Balanta’s double it fell to Evans to fire home late on and secure a share of the points.

Chesterfield strengthened their position at the top of the Vanarama National League with a 2-1 win at Rochdale.

The league leaders got off to a flying start after they went in front after only six minutes.

Armando Dobra headed home Michael Jacobs’ cross into the area, the ball bouncing off the inside of both posts before going in.

Dale were level seven minutes later as George Nevett’s through ball sent Kairo Mitchell racing clear and the striker produced a composed first-time finish under goalkeeper Harry Tyrer.

Another header put the Spireites back in front in the 25th minute as Liam Mandeville received a short corner and crossed for Tom Naylor to nod in.

Neither side threatened after the break as Chesterfield made it seven wins in a row.

Crisis club Southend earned themselves a point as they drew 1-1 at Aldershot.

Little has been going right on and off the pitch for the Shrimpers, and it looked as if Tuesday would follow suit when the Shots took the lead.

Lorent Tolaj scored the goal, a 30-yarder on the stroke of half-time which sent his side in ahead.

But United levelled in the 74th minute when Harry Cardwell pounced on a rebound.

Harry Ottaway’s 59th-minute header earned Dorking a 1-0 National League win over Ebbsfleet at the Kuflink Stadium.

Ottaway met a neat flick from Jason Prior to grab the decisive goal and extend the home side’s poor current run to five games without a win.

Ebbsfleet enjoyed the better of the opening period and both Ousseynou Cisse and Toby Edser went close to putting their side ahead.

They were punished by Ottaway’s effort but briefly thought they had snatched a point late on when Shaq Coulthirst fired home only for his effort to be ruled out for offside.

Chris Conn-Clarke hit the only goal of the game as Altrincham won their Vanarama National League trip to Maidenhead.

The home side are struggling having won just twice all season and slipped to a 1-0 loss as Conn-Clarke hit a stunning second-half winner.

Eddy Jones missed a good early chance for the visitors before Lewis Banks forced a fine save out of Maidenhead goalkeeper Craig Ross.

Conn-Clarke would go on to provide the piece of magic to seal the three points for Altrincham, who remain seventh in the table.

Kidderminster remain rooted to the foot of the Vanarama National League after losing at home to Oldham.

The 2-1 loss means the hosts have won just one of their opening 12 games of the new campaign.

In-form Devarn Green opened the scoring for the Latics with a fine strike which separated the sides at the interval.

Bailey Hobson tapped home from close-range to level for Kidderminster just after the hour but the points would head back to Oldham as Alex Reid’s emphatic 78th-minute strike sealed the win.

Barnet turned on the style in the second half to crush York 4-2 in the Vanarama National League.

The home side actually started the better, going ahead through Dipo Akinyemi’s seventh-minute lobbed opener.

But Barnet hit back, Idris Kanu having a goal ruled out for offside before Harry Pritchard equalised from the edge of the box (12).

Kanu gave the visitors the lead from close range (64) and the result was secured three minutes later when Reece Hall-Johnson headed in at the back post.

Zak Brunt nodded in a fourth with eight minutes to go as Barnet rubbed salt into the wound, before Akinyemi’s last-minute consolation.

Solihull Moors extended their unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League season with an impressive 2-0 victory at Hartlepool.

Andy Whing’s side have now won seven and drawn five as goals from Joe Newton and Callum Maycock saw them leave the Suit Direct Stadium with three points.

Newton capped off an early move to put the visitors ahead inside 10 minutes, with Maycock slotting home to double the lead before the break.

Mani Dieseruvwe came close to reducing the arrears but saw his header well saved by Tommy Simkin as Hartlepool failed to find a way back into the contest.

Ian Henderson struck a stoppage-time winner as Rochdale produced a dramatic fightback to beat 10-man Dorking 2-1 in the National League.

Recent signing Tom Blair scored his first goal for the club to seemingly put Dorking on the way to a third successive victory, breaking the deadlock just prior to the hour mark after turning his man before drilling home at the near post.

Dorking goalkeeper Harrison Male made several fine saves to keep Rochdale at bay but the visitors levelled a minute from time when captain Ethan Ebanks-Landell lashed home the loose ball from 12 yards.

The home side then had Dan Pybus sent off for a second yellow card before 38-year-old Henderson pounced to divert in Jimmy Keohane’s cross.
