Southend saw their winning run end as Borehamwood fought out a 1-1 draw in their Vanarama Nationals League match at the Mangata Pay UK Stadium.

The Shrimpers had been chasing a fifth straight victory and went ahead in the 21st minute through a penalty from Jack Bridge.

Borehamwood, though, equalised at the start of the second half when Erico Sousa got clear down the right before cutting inside to slot the ball in.

Sousa almost won it for the home side in added time, but his effort was parried away by Southend keeper Nick Hayes.

Callum Stead was on target with a first-half double to fire Barnet to a 2-0 victory away at Oxford City.

The 23-year-old’s opener was in large part thanks to imposing forward Nicke Kabamba, who provided the pinpoint flick for Stead to poke past Marcin Brzozowski.

Stead linked up with Kabamba again for his second, a sharp strike into the top corner giving the Hoops goalkeeper little chance of a save.

The visitors were also given a boost by keeper Laurie Walker, who made several key stops to secure the clean sheet, while the Bees saw a potential third ruled out for offside.

National League leaders Chesterfield extended their unbeaten run to 12 games with a 3-1 win against 10-man Kidderminster.

Ollie Banks bagged a brace before Will Grigg added a late third.

Banks put the Spireites ahead by finishing off a counter attack led by Tom Naylor in the 21st minute.

Zak Brown nodded in Reiss McNally’s cross four minutes later for the Harriers.

Banks restored Chesterfield’s lead in the 67th minute, tucking in after Grigg had seen a shot come back off a post.

Kidderminster’s hopes of a reply were hit when McNally picked up a second booking with seven minutes left before Grigg punished the 10 men in stoppage time.

Dorking ended a three-match losing streak as they beat Aldershot 2-1 in their Vanarama National League match at Meadowbank.

Jason Prior put the home side in front in the seventh minute when he flicked in a cross to the near post for his eighth goal of the season.

Cian Harries equalised midway through the second half from the penalty spot after Shots midfielder Josh Stokes was brought down.

Dorking, though, were soon back in front when Barry Fuller played Jimmy Muitt into space and his deflected effort with 20 minutes left proved enough to secure victory.

AFC Fylde secured back-to-back Vanarama National League victories for the first time this season with a 4-0 thrashing of Gateshead at the International Stadium.

Nick Haughton put the visitors 1-0 up inside four minutes before doubling his and the Coasters’ tally when he netted a ninth-minute penalty.

Connor McBride’s attempt was saved by Gateshead goalkeeper Theo Richardson as AFC Fylde continued to dominate proceedings.

Substitute Siya Ligendza put the game to bed with their third goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time before Jon Ustabasi added gloss to the scoreline two minutes later.

Nathan Sheron struck 11 minutes from time as Oldham denied Altrincham a return to winning ways in the Vanarama National League following a 2-2 draw.

Altrincham first went ahead after a quarter of an hour when Chris Conn-Clarke’s whipped cross was headed beyond Mathew Hudson by Justin Amaluzor.

But Oldham levelled for the first time after half an hour when Kieron Freeman exchanged passes with James Norwood, who lashed into the roof of the net from close range.

Altrincham retook the lead in the 35th minute after Hallam Hope was penalised for an apparent handball in the area, which led to Conn-Clarke stepping up and sending Hudson the wrong way with his spot-kick.

But fifth-placed Altrincham, whose five-match winning run was ended by a 1-1 stalemate against Kidderminster in midweek, were denied all three points here as Sheron thumped home from just outside the box as the spoils were shared.

Former Celtic striker Gary Hooper scored deep into stoppage time as promotion-chasing Barnet salvaged a point from a 1-1 draw at home to Solihull.

After a goalless first half, Solihull broke the deadlock in the 51st minute when Joe Newton met Joss Labadie’s cross to head the visitors in front.

Solihull had the ball in the net again in the 84th minute but Kade Craig was flagged offside.

But they must still have felt they were on course for the win as Harry Pritchard’s late header hit the crossbar, only for Hooper to level in the sixth minute of time added on.

Corey Whitely’s stoppage-time strike lifted Bromley up to third place in the National League with a 2-1 win over Dorking at Hayes Lane.

The hosts were stunned when their struggling visitors snatched a fifth-minute lead when Tom Blair slotted the opener past Grant Smith.

But Deji Elerewe delighted the home fans in the 15th minute when he headed his first goal since returning to the club on loan from Charlton.

Dorking looked like they had done enough to break a run of two straight losses but Whitely popped up in the fourth minute of added time to claim the points for the hosts.

Adam Senior’s second-half goal made it four National League wins in a row for Halifax as they beat Hartlepool 2-1.

Max Wright put the Shaymen in front in the 34th minute when he found the bottom corner with a shot from the edge of the area.

Pools levelled just four minutes later when Emmanuel Dieseruvwe converted Nicky Featherstone’s corner.

But Senior won it just three minutes after the restart when he poked home from a corner.

Woking snapped a run of three straight defeats to grab a surprise 1-0 win at in-form Eastleigh in the National league.

Dennon Lewis finished off a swift counter-attack to give the Cardinals a deserved lead on the stroke of half-time.

The hosts, who went into the game on a run of three wins from their last four, pushed for an equaliser but seldom looked like breaking through a resolute visiting defence.

Scott Quigley had two half-chances in eight minutes of added-on time but Woking survived to claim the points.

Chesterfield turned on the style in the second half to sink struggling York 4-0 and move two points clear at the top of the National League.

The Spireites were frustrated for long periods of the first half and visiting keeper Rory Watson saved well to deny Armando Dobra.

Ollie Banks finally broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half and Tom Naylor’s crisp volley doubled the home side’s lead on the hour mark.

Two goals from Will Grigg in the final half-hour completed an impressive second-half display and strengthened his side’s grip on top spot.

AFC Fylde moved off the bottom of the National League with a confidence-boosting 3-0 win over Oldham, who played more than half of the match with 10 men.

Fylde seized control of the game with two goals in the space of three minutes.

Jon Ustabasi scored the opener 11 minutes in after being played in by Luke Charman, firing across goal to find the bottom corner of the net, and moments later Connor Barrett’s cross found Josh Kay to double the lead.

Oldham survived a Kay effort that hit the post before a follow-up was cleared off the line, but things still got worse as Liam Hogan saw red for a second bookable offence six minutes before half-time.

Ustabasi then wrapped up the win with a third goal late on.

Lorent Tolaj scored twice late on as Aldershot completed a remarkable turnaround to beat rock-bottom Maidenhead 4-2 and climb into the National League play-off spots.

In a dramatic first half, struggling Maidenhead raced into a 2-0 lead as Chanka Zimba scored twice, the first the simple task of putting the ball into an empty net after great build-up play from Ashley Nathaniel-George and Reece Smith, then finishing a swift counter-attack in the 22nd minute.

But Coby Rowe headed Aldershot back into the contest from an Ollie Harfield corner in the 36th minute, and they were level moments later as Harfield’s cross was turned in by Jack Barham – with both goals confirmed by the assistant referee as Maidenhead attempted to scramble them off the line.

Tolaj put Aldershot in front nine minutes from time, finding space on the edge of the box to turn and curl a shot past Craig Ross, and then added another deep into time added on as Barham laid it on a plate.

Erico Sousa wrapped up a comeback win for Boreham Wood as they sunk Dagenham 3-1 at Victoria Road.

The visitors arrived in east London with just one league win in seven and things threatened to get worse when Inih Effiong fired Dagenham into a 21st-minute lead.

Tyrone Marsh headed against the bar for Boreham Wood before they levelled just past the half-hour mark through Billy Sass-Davis.

Lee Ndlovu finished off a superb through-ball from Sousa to put his side into the lead in the 48th minute and Sousa sealed victory by netting himself on 67.

Struggling Kidderminster held on to frustrate Altrincham and take a point from their trip to the north west on Tuesday night with a 1-1 draw.

Kidderminster had taken a second-minute lead when a long throw was turned goalwards first by Krystian Pearce, and then by Reiss McNally who was eventually credited with the goal despite Pearce’s best attempts to claim it.

Altrincham were level just before the half-hour as Justin Amaluzor found Lewis Banks on the edge of the box and his left-footed strike found the bottom corner.

Promotion-chasing Altrincham created a string of second-half chances but they could not find the winner they needed to close the gap on the top two.
