York continued their upturn in form with a 2-0 win at Vanarama National League rivals Fylde.

The Minstermen, unbeaten in their last two fixtures after the FA Cup first-round draw at Chester, took an early lead when Scott Burgess volleyed in Ryan Fallowfield’s cross from close range.

Fallowfield then got on the end of a cut-back from Dipo Akinyemi to put City 2-0 up in the 28th minute.

Fylde, who were looking to get out of the relegation zone with a third-straight league win, pushed to get a goal back in the second half.

With nine minutes left, Jon Ustabasi’s header was tipped away off the line by York goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy.

Billy Chadwick’s hat-trick earned Gateshead interim manager Rob Elliot a maiden win after a 6-0 thrashing of Dorking in the Vanarama National League.

Ex-Newcastle goalkeeper Elliot took over coaching duties last month after Mike Williamson left to join MK Dons but had gone winless in his first three fixtures and watched his team exit the FA Cup last weekend.

Gateshead bounced back in style following back-to-back defeats with a scintillating first-half display key.

Chadwick struck twice before half-time, with Stephen Wearne also on target.

Greg Olley made it 4-0 early in the second half before Chadwick completed his treble in the 70th minute and Regan Booty wrapped up the scoring late on.

Kane Ferdinand’s first-half effort made it back-to-back Vanarama National League wins for Maidenhead after a 1-0 victory at home to Halifax.

Alan Devonshire’s side had pushed Sky Bet League One outfit Oxford close in a 2-0 loss in round one of the FA Cup last weekend and bounced back to stun high-flying Halifax.

Ferdinand broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when he flicked home after Jayden Mitchell-Lawson’s cross.

It remained 1-0 until half-time, but Maidenhead were reduced to 10 men when Charlee Adams was shown a second yellow card in the 85th minute.

Halifax piled on the pressure afterwards, but late saves by Craig Ross helped the hosts move up to 20th.

Altrincham extended their unbeaten run to 10 Vanarama National League games as they beat Southend 2-0 at the J Davidson Stadium.

The Robins went close when Chris Conn-Clarke forced a fine save from Shrimpers’ goalkeeper David Martin at full stretch.

Southend, who had been unbeaten in their last seven league games, almost broke the deadlock just before half-time when Harry Cardwell headed wide from Jack Bridge’s cross.

Altrincham took the lead just before the hour when Justin Amaluzor fired the ball in from close range.

Southend forward Daniel Kanu saw a late effort saved, before Altrincham made sure of the points to keep them in the top six when substitute Justin Donawa scored a second with two minutes left.

Hartlepool’s winless run extended to a fifth match after Ebbsfleet struck in stoppage time to earn a 2-2 draw.

John Askey’s team had struggled for form in the Vanarama National League after a strong start to the campaign and entered this fixture following a run of seven defeats in eight matches in all competitions.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe gave Hartlepool the ideal start with a 25-yard effort after six minutes to continue his fine form.

Visiting Ebbsfleet immediately replied with Billy Clifford able to level after a Matty Fanimo pass in the ninth minute.

The match looked destined to finish as a draw until Jake Hastie made it 2-1 to Hartlepool on the stroke of full-time.

However, Askey’s side would not toast a return to winning ways after Dominic Samuel powered home an effort at the back post deep into added time to earn a share of the spoils for Ebbsfleet.

Oldham came from behind to draw 1-1 with Eastleigh in the National League.

The Spitfires were awarded a penalty after Paul McCallum was brought down in the box and Chris Maguire stepped up to fire them ahead in the 26th minute.

However, Oldham levelled in the 69th minute when Mark Kitching set up Alex Reid, who blasted the ball into the roof of the net from close range.

A closely-fought draw left both sides tied on 24 points, five off the play-off places.

Jack Cook’s stoppage-time heroics snatched victory for Wealdstone as they beat Rochdale 3-2.

Kairo Mitchell put Dale ahead in the ninth minute, getting on the end of a through ball and slotting it past Jed Ward to score his eighth goal of the season.

But Wealdstone levelled three minutes into first-half stoppage time when Tarryn Allarakhia’s cross was turned in by Cook.

Rochdale went ahead in the 52nd minute when Ryan East fired home from close range, but their lead was short-lived as Sean Adarkwa equalised just four minutes later.

The game looked destined for a draw, but Cook grabbed a winner five minutes into stoppage time with a header from Kyle Smith’s free-kick.

National League strugglers Oxford City returned to winning ways for the first time in a month as they beat Woking 3-2.

City took the lead 14 minutes in when Olly Sanderson won the ball and threaded through to Zac McEachran, who slotted the ball home.

They reversed roles as McEachran found Sanderson on the break and the forward earned a goal of his own, firing the ball past Will Jaaskelainen but Padraig Amond pulled one back for the visitors in the 69th minute after slotting home from Scott Cuthbert’s pass.

On the 90th minute Josh Parker pounced on Jaaskelainen’s loose pass to roll the ball into an empty net before Amond earned his second of the game nine minutes into stoppage time.

Dagenham made it three wins from four National League matches with a 3-1 win at Dorking.

The Daggers went in front through Dan Gallagher’s own goal in the fourth minute. He slid a cross from the right-hand side into the back of his own net.

Their lead did not last long, though, as Harry Ottaway’s shot from outside of the penalty area flew in off the crossbar to equalise for Dorking 10 minutes later.

Dagenham went back in front when Inih Effiong intercepted a loose ball and hit home and Josh Hare sealed the points when he headed home a cross from Myles Weston in the 78th minute.

Paddy McLaughlin’s strike in the third minute of added-on time helped struggling York salvage a 1-1 Vanarama National League draw at home to Halifax.

There was little to choose between the sides in the first 45 minutes, with Tyler Cordner volleying over for the hosts while Millenic Alli stung the palms of York goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy.

Florent Hoti broke the deadlock four minutes after half-time when he let fly with his left foot from 25 yards, with the ball curling beyond Sykes-Kenworthy and into the top corner.

Aiden Marsh and Quevin Castro were denied by Halifax goalkeeper Sam Johnson but just as it seemed York would have to reflect on a third successive league defeat, McLaughlin struck at the death.

The Northern Irishman stabbed a first-time shot beyond Johnson on the rebound after substitute Scott Burgess’ shot had been blocked by Ryan Galvin as Halifax’s two-game winning run was ended.

York remain in the relegation zone but only goal difference separates them from AFC Fylde, who are hovering above the bottom four, while Halifax sit sixth in the standings.

Maidenhead ended a 13-match winless streak in the National League by hanging on to edge out Eastleigh 3-2 and move off the bottom of the table.

After claiming two wins from their opening four fixtures, Maidenhead had spiralled in recent weeks but they made a bright start and went ahead when Remy Clerima netted following a goalmouth scramble.

The hosts were two up inside 15 minutes as Casey Pettit was upended in the area and Ashley Nathaniel-George slotted home from the spot.

However, Maidenhead also held a 2-0 lead in midweek at Aldershot but lost 4-2, and hearts would have been in mouths after half-time when Scott Quigley headed home at the back post.

But Reece Smith’s deft footwork and fine finish restored the two-goal cushion and even though Quigley curled home deep into stoppage time, Maidenhead held on to secure a first win in the league since August 19.

Deji Elerewe’s second goal in as many games was enough for Bromley to walk away 1-0 winners at Woking.

Michael Cheek had the ball in the back of the Woking net after 20 minutes, but the offside flag was already raised and it remained goalless at the break with few clear-cut chances for either side.

The hosts survived early second-half attempts by Lewis Walker and Rhys Browne before Woking goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen denied Cheek.

His save was parried, however, resulting in the Bromley corner that allowed Elerewe to nod in the winner.

Josh Kelly’s second-half strike was enough for Solihull to claim a 1-0 victory over 10-man Wealdstone at Damson Park.

There was little to show from either side after the first 45 minutes, with Kelly, Jamey Osborne and Jon Benton creating the only real chances for the hosts and Max Kretzschmar testing Tommy Simkin with Wealdstone’s best opportunity.

Kelly finally beat Wealdstone keeper Jed Ward with a delicate touch in the 54th minute to score what proved to be the winner.

Stuart Maynard’s side were down to 10 men when Sam Bowen was issued with a second yellow just after the hour mark, but they did not concede another despite a late chance through Joe Newton, who nodded just wide.

Rochdale survived a late onslaught to claim a 3-2 National League victory at Hartlepool – their first win in seven games.

They opened the scoring after two minutes when a ball over the top from goalkeeper Louie Moulden picked out Cian Hayes and he finished neatly past Joel Dixon.

The visitors’ second goal was as simple as the first with a ball forward flicked on by the head of Kairo Mitchell to Jimmy Keohane and he slotted home.

Dale added a third when Ryan East lashed in from outside the area but there was still time for Nicky Featherstone to pull a goal back for Hartlepool before the break.

The goal gave Pools renewed hope of salvaging something and after Mani Dieseruvwe made it 3-2 with an 83rd-minute header, Christopher Wreh brought a decent save from Moulden and Dieseruvwe kicked the air from two yards with the goal gaping.

Charley Kendall’s late goal sealed all three points for Dagenham & Redbridge as they earned a 1-0 win at Ebbsfleet.

Both sides had their fair share of chances, but neither team could make anything significant come from them early on.

Craig Tanner and Dominic Poleon had opportunities for Ebbsfleet in the second half, with Tanner shooting over the bar.

Kendall found Dagenham a late winner, denying Ebbsfleet a point in the second minute of added time.
