Woking boosted their Vanarama National League survival chances with a last-gasp 3-2 victory over high-flying Gateshead.

The home side made a rapid start and were ahead inside three minutes when Lewis Walker headed home from a corner.

Gateshead were level 11 minutes later when Marcus Dinanga headed in his 24th goal of the season before Callum Whelan rounded Woking goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen and tapped into an empty net to give the visitors a half-time lead.

Woking, who had only picked up two points in their last four league games, equalised in the 79th minute through Charley Kendall’s penalty after Dan Moss was brought down by goalkeeper James Montgomery.

Ricky Korboa finished off a flowing move with three minutes remaining to put Woking back in front late on.

Midfielder Jermaine Anderson was then sent off after two quickfire yellow cards during 12 minutes of stoppage time, but Woking held on to secure victory.

Kidderminster’s fine form under Phil Brown continued as Jack Lambert’s strike secured the Vanarama National League relegation battlers a 1-0 win at promotion-chasing Solihull.

Lambert hit the winner four minutes into the second half to earn Harriers their sixth victory in eight league matches since Brown replaced Russell Penn as boss last month.

They saw out the final few moments with 10 men after Krystian Pearce was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Kidderminster rise a place to 21st, separated by goal difference from 20th-placed York, who have played a game fewer. Andy Whing’s Solihull, who had won three of their last four in the league, remain fourth.

Joe Garner helped himself to a double as Oldham boosted their Vanarama National League play-off hopes with a 2-1 victory at 10-man Eastleigh.

The visitors took the lead after 26 minutes when Nathan Sheron headed the ball back into the box after it had been half cleared and Garner stabbed home from close range.

Liam Hogan might have doubled the lead eight minutes before the break, but his thumping header was well saved by Joe McDonnell.

Eastleigh’s problems mounted within seconds of the restart when midfielder Nigel Atangana was dismissed for a second bookable offence, and the Latics doubled their lead when Hogan played the ball in to Garner, who flicked it around his marker before finding the bottom corner.

Substitute Enzio Boldewijn pulled one back with a 30-yard piledriver with six minutes remaining, but ultimately to no avail.

Southend made it three straight wins with a 2-1 victory at home to Altrincham.

Chris Conn-Clarke’s 17th goal of the season got the visitors off to the perfect start, the forward slotting home from Alex Newby’s pass.

But Southend responded well and two quickfire goals had them in front at the break.

Harry Cardwell made it two in two games as he turned in Marcus Dackers’ knockdown after 40 minutes, with Wes Fonguck firing in a second in stoppage time.

Cardwell was inches away from a third early in the second half, but noteworthy chances were few after that as Altrincham slipped to a fourth consecutive defeat.

Goals from Michael Jacobs and substitute Will Grigg sent Chesterfield 23 points clear at the top of the Vanarama National League after their 2-0 win in a top-of-the-table clash with Barnet.

Jacobs passed up an early opportunity for the visitors when he dragged his shot wide from Armando Dobra’s backheeled pass, but the home side were denied by the goal frame when Harry Pritchard’s looping header came back off the bar.

In the event, it was the Spireites who took a 29th-minute lead when Bailey Clements ran on to Jamie Grimes’ ball over the top and crossed for Jacobs to score.

Callum Stead and Pritchard both threatened for the hosts as they tried to work their way back into the game after the restart, but neither was able to hit the target.

But the game was over with 10 minutes remaining when Grigg struck after good work by Tom Naylor to wrap up the points.

Cian Hayes struck twice in an inspired first half as Rochdale blew Wealdstone away with a 3-0 win at the Crown Oil Arena.

Dale skipper Ethan Ebanks-Landell put the hosts ahead in the 26th minute, converting when the away defence failed to adequately deal with a ball fired into the box.

Only a linesman’s flag denied him a second soon after but Hayes’ quickfire double in the final moments before the break made the points safe.

He made no mistake after Kairo Mitchell’s effort came back off a post and then hoisted a cross-cum-shot high over a wrong-footed Marcus Dewhurst. The relegation-threatened visitors could not muster any kind of comeback in the second period and stay out of the bottom four on goal difference only.

Callum Stead struck in each half as Barnet beat York 2-0 at The Hive to move into second place in the National League.

The Bees went ahead in the 27th minute when Stead sent a drive past goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy and into the bottom corner.

Stead then beat Sykes-Kenworthy again in a one-on-one just past the hour mark to double the hosts’ advantage.

What was only a second victory in six saw Dean Brennan’s Barnet go above Bromley on goal difference – the Raves lost 2-0 at Eastleigh – while Neal Ardley’s York, winless in four, drop to 20th, a point above the relegation zone.

Maidenhead’s four-match losing streak came to an end as Alan Devonshire’s men came from behind to win 3-1 against Altrincham at Moss Lane.

After the home side led through Lewis Banks’ 12th-minute strike, the Magpies equalised on the half-hour mark courtesy of Kevin Lokko.

Reece Smith then put them ahead just before the interval and Remy Clerima added a third three minutes into the second half.

Maidenhead move up two places to 15th in the National League table, going four points clear of the relegation zone, while Phil Parkinson’s Altrincham – having suffered a third loss on the bounce – slip one spot to ninth.

Ebbsfleet edged away from the National League relegation zone as they came from behind to beat 10-man Dorking 4-1.

Things had started well for the hosts when Charlie Carter put them in front after 23 minutes when he was left with an easy finish when the ball fell to him in the box from a free-kick.

But the lead lasted only six minutes before Rakish Bingham beat Harrison Male with a shot that went in off the post and Luke O’Neill’s free-kick turned the game around, four minutes before half-time.

Dorking’s task got harder when Tony Craig was shown a second yellow card for a high boot just after the hour and soon after, Bingham turned in Ben Chapman’s cross to make sure for the visitors before Dominic Samuel capped it off late on.

Southend came from behind to deny 10-man Aldershot a third straight Vanarama National League win with a 4-1 triumph at Roots Hall.

In the 19th minute Lorent Tolaj saw his shot blocked but Josh Stokes was well placed to put away the loose ball and give the Shots the lead.

Aldershot lost a man in the 50th minute as Rollin Menayese fouled Danny Waldron on the edge of the area to deny him a goalscoring opportunity and earn a red card. From the resulting free-kick, Harry Cardwell pounced to notch on the rebound.

The game was soon flipped on its head as, six minutes after their equaliser, Southend went ahead through Ollie Kensdale’s close-range finish. During nine minutes of stoppage time, Jack Wood and Marcus Dackers killed off the contest with their goals.

Kabongo Tshimanga scored twice as Boreham Wood impressed with a 4-0 victory over Fylde.

The potent Tshimanga scored after five minutes, and the hosts doubled their lead in the 28th minute when Fylde’s Ethan Mitchell turned the ball into his own net, adding to a disappointing start for the visitors.

Matt Robinson also got on the scoresheet just before the break as Boreham Wood strengthened their grip on the match.

Tshimanga then grabbed his second of the match five minutes from time to help end a run of two straight defeats for the Hertfordshire side.

Solihull Moors maintained their Vanarama National League play-off push with a 2-1 win over Hartlepool.

After Pools forward Joe Grey saw his shot from the edge of the box saved, the Moors took the lead in the 20th minute when Tahvon Campbell turned home a corner.

Defender Callum Maycock made it 2-0 in the 66th minute after Campbell had helped the ball on through the Hartlepool penalty area.

Hartlepool pulled a goal back with 15 minutes left through Callum Cooke and then almost snatched a late equaliser when Emmanuel Dieseruvwe’s header hit the base of the post.

Andrew Oluwabori’s second-half goal was enough to earn FC Halifax a 1-0 win at Dagenham and Redbridge and saw the Shaymen edge closer to the National League play-off places.

The deciding goal came in the 56th minute as Oluwabori was able to take a couple of touches before hitting a fine strike into the top corner.

It came after a first half of few chances, but did at least spark Dagenham into life.

They went close to a late equaliser but Tom Eastman’s header came back off a post before goalkeeper Sam Johnson denied him on the rebound.

Marcus Dinanga’s hat-trick helped Gateshead improve their play-off prospects and deepened the misery for bottom club Oxford City in a 4-0 Vanarama National League win.

Luke Hannant opened the scoring at Gateshead International Stadium with a 17th-minute penalty before City’s hopes of a comeback were dented by the 35th-minute dismissal of Andre Burley, following a second yellow card.

Gateshead were 2-0 ahead less than two minutes into the second half when Dinanga netted after Ben Worman’s shot had been saved.

He prodded in a third 10 minutes later before wrapping up his treble with his 17th goal of the campaign late on.

Vanarama National League leaders Chesterfield saw Rochdale fight back to earn a 2-2 draw at at the SMH Group Stadium.

Chesterfield – beaten at second-placed Bromley last weekend – took the lead three minutes into the second half through a deflected header by Tom Naylor and a scrappy second from Will Grigg just after the hour looked to have settled matters.

Dale, though, produced a fine late fightback when D’Mani Mellor, on loan from Wycombe, pulled a goal back with 20 minutes left.

Grigg saw a goal ruled out for offside before Devante Rodney’s shot on the turn went into the top corner to secure Dale a point and end their four-match losing streak.
