Charlie Seaman scored the winner as Hartlepool secured a 3-2 victory over Southend at Roots Hall.

Jack Bridge provided the hosts with an early lead, opening the scoring just four minutes in.

Tom Crawford cancelled out the Shrimpers’ lead, putting Hartlepool level in the 27th minute.

Southend restored their advantage courtesy of Gus Scott-Morriss after 52 minutes before Pools substitute Joe Grey equalised for the visitors five minutes later.

Pools sealed all three points after Seaman’s strike with 17 minutes remaining handed them the lead for the first time.

Pierre Fonkeu’s second-half strike sealed Oxford City’s first National League point after a 1-1 draw with Halifax at The Shay.

Fonkeu converted Josh Parker’s cross in the 54th minute to snap a three-game losing streak for Ross Jenkins’ newly promoted side.

The hosts had the better of the opening period with Adam Senior coming close and Jamie Cook striking the post shortly before the half-hour mark.

Rob Harker grabbed the opener after 32 minutes when he went clear through on goal and held his nerve to slot the ball past visiting keeper Chris Haigh.

Reece Fleet went close for Halifax at the start of the second half before Fonkeu’s effort levelled for Oxford and the hosts went in search of a late winner to no avail.

Altrincham kept their unbeaten start to the season intact after they played out a 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood.

Alty put themselves a goal to the good half an hour into the contest when Regan Linney unleashed an effort into the bottom corner.

The visitors were on level terms just after the hour mark after Femi Ilesanmi put it on a plate for Lee Ndlovu who tapped in from close range.

Boreham Wood almost turned the game around with 10 minutes to go when Ndlovu’s cross found Tyrone Marsh but his volley flew marginally wide of the target.

The hosts could have snatched a winner late on when Matty Kosylo cut in from the right and smashed an effort towards goal but Nathan Ashmore’s save ensured both sides took a share of the spoils.

Kidderminster and Bromley shared the points from a fractious goalless draw as the Ravens moved out of the Vanarama National League’s bottom two.

Bromley were forced to make an early substitution after Soul Kader went down injured twice – he was replaced by Bim Pepple.

The visitors to Aggborough had their work cut out early on as Cole Kpekawa was dismissed for an off-ball incident in the 21st minute. Eventually both sides ended up playing with 10 men after Jack Lambert picked up his second yellow card.

The Harriers continued to create chances, but were unable to convert them as they saw out a stalemate.

James Norwood netted a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point for Oldham as they drew 1-1 with Chesterfield.

The visitors started the brighter of the two sides and almost had the opener but Norwood headed just wide of the target from inside the area.

Chesterfield then had a great opportunity to hit the front just after the half-hour mark but Branden Horton smashed a volley over the crossbar at the back post.

The hosts hit the front in the 61st minute when Ash Palmer’s bullet header met a corner at the back post and flew in.

The Spireites almost had another when Liam Mandeville hit the crossbar and thought they were on their way to four straight wins but, deep into stoppage time, Norwood pounced on a rebound and turned home to finish things level at 1-1.

Solihull Moors continued their unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League campaign with a 2-1 victory at Boreham Wood.

The visitors broke the deadlock six minutes before the interval when forward Mark Beck rose highest to head home.

The points were secured when Jamey Osborne fired home the other side of the break after Jamal Fyfield had missed a decent chance to equalise.

David Agbontohoma’s last-minute goal for the hosts – his first for the club – was no more than a consolation as Solihull moved to seven points from three games, with Wood three points further back.

Halifax stunned Oldham with a 2-1 National League victory in front of 7,964 fans at Boundary Park.

Rob Harker fired the visitors ahead after 31 minutes with a superb long-range strike.

Oldham were level five minutes before the break when Mark Shelton fired home from a corner.

Harker went close against for Halifax before the resulting corner fell to Adam Senior, who scrambled home from close range.

Altrincham twice fought back twice to draw 2-2 with York and deny the Minstermen a first National League win of the season.

York, who had lost their first two games, were ahead after 10 minutes when Dipo Akinyemi volleyed home his second goal of the season.

Chris Conn-Clarke’s cool finish levelled matters after 37 minutes, but York instantly regained the lead through Callum Harriott’s first goal for the club.

Altrincham preserved their unbeaten record when substitute Matty Kosylo scored with his first touch midway through the second half.

Ebbsfleet continued their encouraging start to the National League season with a 2-0 win over Aldershot.

Goals either side of half-time from Franklin Domi and Dominic Poleon ensured Fleet made it two wins from their opening three games.

Domi opened the scoring before the break when he cut inside from the right and curled an unstoppable effort into the corner.

Former Leeds striker Poleon won it in the second half when he converted Billy Clifford’s pass.

Will Grigg struck a late winner as leaders Chesterfield maintained their 100 per cent National League record with a 2-1 success at lowly Oxford City.

Tom Naylor headed home James Berry’s corner in first-half stoppage time for his first Spireites goal.

Josh Parker met Lewis Coyle’s cross on the volley to give City hope of collecting a first point of the season.

But Chesterfield punished them when unmarked Northern Ireland international Grigg collected an 88th-minute pass on the penalty spot and slotted home.

Hartlepool produced a stirring second-half show to beat Maidenhead 3-1 in the National League.

Charlee Adams saw his effort for Maidenhead saved before Anthony Mancini opened the scoring from close range after 56 minutes.

Charlie Seaman added a beauty four minutes later to give Hartlepool a two-goal cushion.

Skipper David Ferguson sealed matters six minutes from time before Casey Pettit provided a Maidenhead consolation in the fifth minute of stoppage time.

Bromley picked up their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw with Wealdstone at Hayes Lane.

The visitors took the lead in the fourth minute when Tahvon Campbell let fly from just outside the area which flew into the back of the net.

Bromley came close to equalising in spectacular fashion but Michael Cheek’s audacious chip from the halfway line landed onto the roof of the net.

Wealdstone could have doubled their advantage in the second half but Olufela Olomola’s effort from inside the area was brilliantly saved by Grant Smith.

With 20 minutes to go, Bromley found their equaliser when Soul Kader slotted home for his first senior goal while netting Bromley’s first of the campaign in the process.

Woking fought back to upset Rochdale 3-2 and leapfrog them in the Vanarama National League table.

Tyrese Sinclair slotted home from a tight angle after 15 minutes, capitalising on an error from home goalkeeper Joe Day.

Scott Cuthbert headed an equaliser after the break and Woking were ahead on 74 minutes when Padraig Amond was fouled and Reece Grego-Cox dispatched the penalty.

Grego-Cox grabbed his second eight minutes later before Kairo Mitchell provided some late consolation for Dale.

AFC Fylde scored four minutes from time to earn their first win of the Vanarama National League season with a 2-1 victory over Kidderminster at Mill Farm.

The home side could have opened the scoring half an hour into the contest when Luke Charman unleashed a powerful effort at goal but Christian Dibble was on hand to palm it away.

Fylde broke the deadlock with 11 minutes to go through Charman, who could not be denied by Dibble this time.

Fylde could have doubled their advantage a couple of minutes later but Gold Omotayo saw his header rattle off the crossbar.

Seconds later, Kidderminster punished them and levelled things up when Kieran Phillips broke forward on the counter-attack and beautifully chipped home to make it 1-1.

Hpwever, Fylde regained their advantage through defender Luke Conlan to hand them their first victory of the campaign.

Gateshead picked up their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Dagenham at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The visitors took the lead 35 minutes in through Luke Hannant’s first goal of the season.

They doubled their advantage six minutes after the break when Marcus Dinanga smashed across goal and into the back of the net to make it 2-0.

The home side pulled one back 18 minutes from time when the Daggers attack forced a mistake from the defence and Inih Effiong slotted home to cut their deficit to just one.

But Gateshead restored their two-goal advantage three minutes later when Hannant cut inside on the right and finished for his second of the night.

Dinanga also added another (83) to make it four and Charley Kendall’s late consolation for Dagenham could not stop Gateshead from sealing the three points.
