
Freshman VJ Edgecombe had a joint team-high 18 points to help the Baylor Bears rebound from an embarrassing 74-55 loss to Iowa State last Saturday with a dominant 68-48 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats on Tuesday at Baylor’s Foster Pavilion.
The Bimini, Bahamas-born Edgecombe hit seven of his 13 shot attempts including two of four from the three-point line to lead the Bears to their tenth win of the season in 14 contests.
Norchad Omier recorded a double-double for the hosts with 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three assists, two steals and a block.
Overall, Baylor had an excellent day shooting the ball, making 27 of their 54 shot attempts and nine of their 11 free throws.
Dan Skillings Jr led the way for Cincinnati, also now 10-4 this season, with an efficient 18 points while Aziz Bandaogo chipped in with 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks.
The Bears will next travel to Arizona State on Saturday.
