The Jamaica Scorpions ended the second day of their fifth-round West Indies Championship fixture against the West Indies Academy at Coolidge with a 274-run second innings lead.
After entering day two 332-7 in their first inning, the Scorpions added a further 43 runs before being bowled out for 375 in 92.2 overs.
Brad Barnes got to his second fifty of the season before he was the first batsman to fall on the day for an even 50 off 107 balls.
Jeavor Royal added a handy 30 off 37 balls before he and Ojay Shields fell in quick succession to bring the innings to a close.
Jediah Blades finished with 4-64 from 20 overs to lead the Academy bowling while Ackeem Auguste finished with 2-45 from seven overs.
The Academy were then bowled out for 211 in 46.5 overs in their first innings in reply.
Carlon Bowen-Tuckett continued his good form with the bat this season with a top score of 57 off 100 balls including nine fours while opener Mbeki Joseph made an 88-ball 54, his maiden half-century in first-class cricket.
Teddy Bishop was the next highest scorer with 30.
Barnes followed up his good performance with the bat with figures of 3-25 off six overs and was well supported by Ojay Shields and Marquino Mindley who took 3-40 from 8.5 overs and 2-32 from nine overs, respectively.
At stumps, Jamaica were 110-2 in 23 overs, leading by 274. Brandon King ended the day on 58* while first innings half-centurion Javelle Glenn was 20* at close.
Johann Layne has taken both wickets to fall so far in his six overs while conceding 16.
First innings centurion and Scorpions captain John Campbell has yet to bat in the second innings.
