A six-wicket haul from West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph put the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in a dominant position halfway through their fifth-round West Indies Championship match against the Combined Campuses and Colleges at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
After entering Thursday’s second day 375-6 in their first innings, the Leewards got through to 425 all out in 98.5 overs.
Pacer Chemar Holder picked up 5-107 from his 26.5 overs to lead the attack for the CCC while new ball partner Akeem Jordan took 3-77 from 24 overs.
Joseph then ripped through the CCC batting on his way to figures of 6-35 from 17 overs at the CCC were restricted to 170-9 in 44 overs before declaring.
Romario Greaves top scored with 39* off 62 balls while captain Johann Jeremiah made 31.
Justin Greaves added to his hundred on Wednesday with 2-13 from five over sin support of Joseph.
The Leewards reached 94-1 off 19 overs in their second innings at stumps, leading by an imposing 349 runs.
Mikyle Louis (34*) and Keacy Carty (16*) were the batsmen at the crease at stumps while Kadeem Henry earlier made 41.
