
Bahamian freshman star VJ Edgecombe scored an efficient 16 points to help the Baylor Bears dominate the Norfolk State Spartans 94-69 in NCAA Division 1 Basketball action at Foster Pavilion on Wednesday.
In his second game back from a hamstring injury that caused him to miss a massive December 2 matchup against reigning back-to-back NCAA Champions UCONN, the 19-year-old made six of his 11 field goal attempts and two of his five three-point attempts to help the Bears move to 7-3 on the season.
It was an all-round performance from Edgecombe who also grabbed nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Senior forward Norchad Omier led Baylor in scoring with 19 points and had seven rebounds and five steals while freshman guard Robert Wright III and junior forward Josh Ojianwuna had 16 points, each, with Wright III also dishing out 13 assists.
In his first game back from injury on Monday, Edgecombe had 14 points and six rebounds to help Baylor hammer the Abilene Christian Wildcats 88-59.
