Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz punched their ticket to this summer’s Concacaf Gold Cup in convincing fashion, as they blanked St Vincent and the Grenadines 3-0 in their second-leg preliminary clash at Sabina Park on Tuesday.

The victory, courtesy of goals from Warner Brown (27th), Andrew Elton Johnson (89th own goal), and Renaldo Cephas (90+4), sealed a 4-1 aggregate win, which ensured the Boyz a place in the prestigious tournament set for June 14 to July 6.

Much like the first leg, the Jamaicans started with intent, as they asserted their dominance early and kept the visitors on the back foot. The breakthrough came when Warner Brown got on the end of a perfectly weighted pass from Bobby Reid. Brown, who is currently the Jamaica Premier League's leading scorer, slipped past a defender with ease and unleashed a powerful right-footed shot from just inside the 18-yard box, leaving the Vincentian goalkeeper, Lemus Christopher, with no chance.

Despite controlling much of the game, the Boyz failed to add to their tally before the break.

The visitors showed resilience and tried to catch Jamaica on the counter, but the Boyz backline held firm.

As the clock ticked down, St Vincent and the Grenadines looked poised to limit the damage. However, a lapse in concentration late in the game allowed Jamaica to put the result beyond doubt.

First, Andrew Elton Johnson's desperate attempt to clear, only redirected the ball over his hapless custodian Christopher to double Jamaica’s advantage.

Cephas then added the finishing touch to a dominant performance when he slotted home in time added.
