Muschett’s Smythe fastest through to Class One Boys 200m semis; 100m champion Card does not start

Muschett High’s Johan-Ramaldo Smythe was the fastest through to the semi-finals of the Class One Boys 200m on Thursday’s day three of the 2025 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships at the National Stadium in Kingston.

Smythe, who finished sixth in the 100m final on Wednesday, produced an easy 21.10 to advanced fastest to the semi-finals scheduled for Friday afternoon.

JC’s Makaelan Woods (21.12) and Edwin Allen’s Antonio Powell (21.13) were the second and third fastest in the heats.

100m silver medallist, Tyreece Foreman of St. George’s College also advanced with 21.55 as did fellow 100m finalist Rosean Smith of Lacovia (21.31). 100m champion Gary Card did not start after picking up an injury during last night’s final.

In Class Two, 400m finalist Jason Pitter of Kingston College was fastest in the heats with 21.61 ahead of JC’s Malique Dennis (21.62) and Holmwood Technical’s 100m silver medallist Jaydon Collins (21.69).

The Class Three field was led by Rusea’s High’s Tiene Barrett (22.58) ahead of St. Jago’s 100m bronze medallist Rajuan Romelly (22.66) and JC’s Tyler Morgan (22.92).

The KC pair of Emmile Higgins (22.94) and 100m finalist Andre Genus (22.99) as well as St. Jago’s 100m silver medallist Jevaney Findlay (23.06) also made it through to the semi-finals.
