Calabar fastest in all three classes in Boys' 4x100m heats

Calabar High were fastest through to the 4x100m finals in all three classes on day three of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships at the National Stadium on Thursday.

Their Class One quartet produced a rapid 40.01 to take their heat and advance fastest to Saturday’s final.

Jamaica College and Kingston College were also impressive in the heats, winning their respective races in 40.05 and 40.11.

Excelsior High (40.40), Edwin Allen 40.13), St. George’s College (40.50), STETHS (40.83) and William Knibb (40.95) also advanced to the final.

The Red Hills Road-based school was also fastest in the Class Two heats with 41.47. Kingston College (41.67) and Jamaica College (41.76) were second and third fastest, respectively.

The other schools to advance to the final were Wolmer’s Boys (41.95), Petersfield (41.76), St. George’s College (42.10), STETHS (42.27) and Edwin Allen (42.41).

Calabar were also the fastest qualifiers in Class Three with 43.20 with Kingston College (43.60) and Jamaica College (43.93) rounding out the three fastest though to Saturday’s final.

St. Jago High (44.12), Edwin Allen (45.04), Wolmer’s Boys (45.22), William Knibb (45.31) and STETHS (45.48) make up the field for the final.
