Raymond Kellman and Marrodon Bend played starring roles as the Warriors dethroned the two-time defending champions Settlers by seven wickets to lift the title of the 2025 BIM 10 Tournament at the Windward grounds, Lucas Street in St Philip, Barbados on Sunday.
Chasing 121 for victory and a $10,000 purse, Warriors came out the gates furiously with Kellman and captain Jonathan Carter putting on an opening stand of 50 runs in three overs.
Carter was removed by Dario Cumberbatch for 15 off eight balls before,10 runs later, Yvan Grant lost his wicket to make the score 60 for two in 4.5 overs.
Bend and Kellman then joined forces, adding 50 for the third wicket before Kellman was run-out with the Warriors needing 11 to win off the final three balls.
With the tournament’s second leading wicket taker Marlon Welcome-Goodman set to deliver, Bend slammed back to back sixes over the square leg boundary to bring the Warriors home with a ball to spare.
Kellman top scored with 64 while Bend scored 29 in 17 balls with two fours and two sixes to lead the Warriors to the winning score of 122-3.
Earlier in the day, Settlers won the toss and elected to bat first.
They were in immediate trouble when they lost the dangerous Kadeem Alleyne with the first ball of the innings, caught by Kemar Smith at long-on off the bowling of Preston McSween.
Kevin Stoute and Demetrius Richards added 42 for the second wicket before Richards was LBW to Zion Brathwaite for 15.
Batting at number four, captain Nicholas Kirton wasted little time when he got to the crease, striking 26 in his first 10 balls faced as he and Stoute formed a 64-run partnership.
Stoute, clearly hobbling from injury, lost his wicket during the ninth over for 47 in 27 balls with six fours and two sixes, while Kirton remained unbeaten on 45 in 17 balls with the same number of boundaries, Settlers posted 120 for three in their 10 overs.
Kellman was named Man of the Match of the finals while his teammate McSween was named Player of the Tournament thanks to his 16 wickets.
Kevin Wickham of Settlers was the leading run scorer with 318 runs in 10 games, while teammate Kadeem Alleyne recorded the most catches with 10.
