The Surrey Royals are champions of the Dream 11 Jamaica T10 Tournament for a second time after defeating the Surrey Risers by eight wickets in the final at Sabina Park on Saturday.

The Royals restricted the Risers to 86-8 from their 10 overs after skipper Javelle Glenn won the toss and chose to bowl.

The Risers were, at one point, cruising at 63-0 in the seventh over before losing eight wickets for just 23 runs in the next 19 balls.

Khari Campbell, part of the St. Lucia Kings victorious 2024 CPL squad, led the way with the ball for the Royals with 3-8 from his two overs while Carlos Brown also bowled well with 2-15 from two overs.

The Royals then needed just 8.2 overs to reach 89-2 and add to their 2022 title.

Odean Smith, who finished the tournament as the leading run scorer, made 23 off just six balls, with half of those balls going over the rope.

Leroy Lugg and Carlos Brown each made 21 while Peat Salmon was alongside Smith at the crease at the end on 18.

Oraine Williams and Warren Robinson got the wickets for the Risers.

In the day’s earlier encounter, the Surrey Kings, who entered this year as defending champions, settled for third place this time around after defeating the Middlesex Titans by three wickets.

The Titans batted first, making a respectable 105-3 from their 10 overs thanks to 33* from Matthew Morgan, 30 off 17 balls from Alwyn Williams and 20 off 10 balls from Jamaica Scorpions captain John Campbell.

Shalome Parnell, Andre Dennis and Mario Davis were the wicket takers for the Kings.

Captain Jermaine Blackwood then led the way with 33 off 19 balls as the Kings reached 107-7 with three balls to spare.

West Indies Under-19 representative Steven Wedderburn was the next highest scorer with 24.

Alwyn Williams completed an excellent all-round performance with 4-14 from his two overs while Jermaine Chisolm provided good support with 3-28 from his two overs.
