West Indian all-rounder Jason Holder produced another solid performance as Islamabad United got their second win in as many games on Monday to start this season’s HBL Pakistan Super League.

Holder hit 20* off 11 balls and picked up 1-20 from three overs as Islamabad hammered Alzarri Joseph’s Peshawar Zalmi by 102 runs at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Islamabad piled up a mammoth 243-5 from their 20 overs thanks to a century from opener Sahibzada Farhan.

The 29-year-old right hander hit 106 off just 52 balls including 13 fours and five sixes while Colin Munro supported well with 40 off 27 balls including six fours and a six.

Pakistan T20 skipper Salman Agha also played well for his 30 off 15 balls.

Joseph picked up 2-39 from his four overs while Hussain Talat also took 2-39 from one less over than the Antiguan quick.

The Peshawar chase then failed to get out of first gear as only one batsman, Mohammad Haris, got past 20 as they were bowled out for 141 in 18.2 overs.

Haris made a 47-ball 87 including 12 fours and four sixes but was unable to find any reliable partners at the other end to make it a game.

Veteran Imad Wasim picked up 3-26 from his four overs while Ben Dwarshuis and captain Shadab Khan took 2-23 from 2.2 overs and 2-29 from four overs, respectively.
