Chinelle Henry’s UP Warriorz Women ended their 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL) campaign with a 12-run win over defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in Lucknow on Saturday.
The Warriorz first posted a massive 225-5 from their 20 overs after being put in to bat by RCB captain Smriti Mandhana.
Australian Georgia Voll led the way with the bat with a masterful 99* off 56 balls including 17 fours and a six.
Voll received excellent support from number three batter Kiran Navgire who hit five sixes and two fours on her way to 46 off just 15 balls and opening partner Grace Harris who made 39 from 22 balls including seven fours and a six.
Henry also chipped in with 19 from 15 balls including four fours. Georgia Wareham picked up 2-43 from her four overs.
RCB then made a valiant fight of the chase, making 213 in 19.3 overs to lose by just 12 runs.
Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh played excellently on her way to 69 off 33 balls while Ellyse Perry and Sabbhineni Meghana contributed 28 off 15 balls and 27 off 12 balls, respectively.
All hope seemed lost for RCB until Sneh Rana, batting at number 10, made a rapid 26 off just six balls to make things interesting.
In the end, 15 needed off the final over proved to be too much.
In the midst of the carnage, Sophie Ecclestone was excellent with her 3-25 off four overs while Deepti Sharma also took three wickets but was expensive, conceding 50 including 28 off the 19th over.
Henry also bowled well for her 2-39 from four overs.
RCB’s loss also eliminates them from playoff contention.

UP Warriorz Women 225-5 in 20 overs (Georgia Voll 99*, Kiran Navgire 46, Grace Harris 39, Georgia Wareham 2-43)
