The Turks and Caicos Sports Commission has announced the highly anticipated ADF Fight Night: TCI vs Canada, an international boxing showcase set to take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 6:00 PM EST at the Gustarvus Lightbourne Sports Complex in Providenciales.

This invitational event, held in honour of the late Jim Kelly Joseph, will feature five to eight competitive bouts, pitting rising local boxing talents against some of the best youth fighters from Canada. The event is a collaboration between the Felix Morley Community Centre Boxing Club and three top Canadian boxing clubs—Sarnia, Brampton, and Niagara—aimed at fostering sportsmanship, international camaraderie, and boxing development.

The ADF Fight Night is not just about competition but also serves as a tribute to Jim Kelly Joseph, whose contributions to boxing played a key role in shaping young athletes in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Minister of Sport, Hon. Rachel Taylor, emphasized the importance of the event in developing young talent and boosting sports tourism.

"This event is a powerful testament to the growth and impact of boxing in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Boxing has long been a source of discipline, opportunity, and empowerment for our young athletes, and I am especially proud to see it flourish at the Felix Morley Community Centre in Five Cays," said Minister Taylor.

She also highlighted the economic and cultural benefits of hosting international competitions, stating:

"Beyond the ring, this event showcases the potential of sports tourism in the Turks and Caicos Islands. By attracting international athletes, coaches, and supporters, we not only strengthen our sporting legacy but also create new opportunities for economic growth and cultural exchange."

Director of Sports, Mr. Jarrett Forbes, expressed excitement about providing local athletes with a chance to compete on an international stage.

"The Sports Commission is thrilled to host this invitational, providing our young athletes with an incredible opportunity to compete against international talent. This event is about more than just boxing—it’s about discipline, dedication, and strengthening the sporting culture in the Turks and Caicos."

The participation of elite Canadian clubs adds another layer of significance to the event, allowing Turks and Caicos' youth boxers to test their skills against well-trained and technically sound opponents.

Fans can expect an intense and electrifying atmosphere, with local and international boxing enthusiasts turning out to support the fighters. The event also invites the Canadian community in the Turks and Caicos Islands to rally behind both nations' athletes, further promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and unity.

With the sport of boxing on the rise in the Turks and Caicos Islands, the ADF Fight Night represents a crucial stepping stone for young athletes, offering exposure, experience, and an opportunity to compete at a high level.
