
The Antigua & Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA) on Tuesday unveiled a 19-member squad to take part in the 52nd staging of the CARIFTA Games set for April 19th -21st at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.
2024 Antigua & Barbuda National Junior Sportswoman of the Year, Tyra Fenton, will compete in the Under-17 Female 200m and 400m while Zonique Charles will contest the Javelin and Ranique Richards will take part in the Shot Put.
Fenton took home bronze in both the U-17 200m and 400m at last year's CARIFTA Games in Grenada.

The Under-17 Male category, Javon Simon, similarly to Fenton, will do the 200m, 400m double while Haneif Jones will contest the sprint double. In the field, Naeem Simon and Marcus Henry will be a part of the field in the High Jump.
Geolyna Dowdye will contest the Under-20 Female 100m and 200m while Hannah Charles will take part in the 1500m and 3000m.
Dowdye won 100m bronze in the same category at last year's CARIFTA Games.

Kettia Ambrose will take part in the 200m, 400m and Mixed 4x400m while Shenika Bentick will also contest the 400m and Mixed 4x400m.
Jada Gunthrope will be the lone Under-20 representative in the field events when she contests the Long Jump.
Kasiya Daley and Conroy Wilson will contest the Under-20 Male 100m while Daley will also take part in the 200m alongside Daniel Skepple. All three will also contest the 4x100m alongside Judah Ashe and Kevon Campbell, who will also take part in the Mixed 4x400m.
Cleon Joseph will contest the 400m as well as the Mixed 4x400m.
In the field, Maliek Francis will compete in the Javelin. Francis set an Under-17 record 68.84m to take gold at last year’s edition of the Games at the Kirani James Stadium in Grenada.

Jamille Nelson will serve as Head Coach of the team with Heather Samuel-Daley and Oswald Baptiste working as Assistant Coaches.
Gillian Matthew will serve as Manager of the team set to depart the island on April 17.
