Half centuries from captain Teddy Bishop and Mbeki Joseph have the West Indies Academy holding a slight advantage over the Combined Campuses and Colleges halfway through their sixth-round West Indies Championship fixture at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St. Augustine.

The Academy entered Thursday’s second day 37-1 in nine overs, trailing the CCC by 201 runs on first innings and went on to post 316 all out in 79.2 overs on the back of some excellent batting from Bishop and Joseph.

Joshua Bishop (26), Rivaldo Clarke (25) and Jordan Johnson (23) all got starts but failed to kick on.

Pacer Chemar Holder, who dismissed Bishop one short of his hundred in the 72nd over of the innings, was the pick of the bowlers with 4-81 from 18.2 overs while Romario Greaves and Jaden Edmund took two wickets, each.

CCC ended the day 35-0 in nine overs in their second innings, trailing the Academy by 43 runs.

Captain Johann Jeremiah is not out on 22.
