Saint Lucia has named a strong 22-member contingent for the 52nd edition of the CARIFTA Games, set for April 19–21, 2025, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The national squad, announced by the Saint Lucia Athletics Association (SLAA), features a mix of fresh talent and experienced campaigners, including eight returning athletes from the 2024 staging of the Games.

This marks one of the largest contingents ever fielded by the nation at the regional junior championships, coming two years after Saint Lucia’s most successful CARIFTA campaign.

Leading the team is Naomi London, the national junior record holder in the women’s 100m, whose inclusion adds historic weight to this year’s contingent. Hailing from Vieux-Fort, London made headlines at the 2023 CARIFTA Games in the Bahamas, where she clocked 11.72 seconds to win silver in the 100m—becoming Saint Lucia’s first-ever sprint medalist in the history of the Caribbean’s premier junior track and field showcase.

Now based at Texas University, London returns to CARIFTA as a strong medal contender and a symbol of Saint Lucia’s rising sprinting profile.

Also headlining the squad is Naya Jules, a double CARIFTA Games record holder in the pole vault, who will also compete in the javelin. The team is supported by a six-member technical and management team, led by Team Manager Cornelius Breen and Head Coach Denise Herman.

"This team reflects the dedication and development efforts across our clubs both at home and abroad," the SLAA stated. "We are confident these athletes will represent the flag with pride and determination."

The 2025 CARIFTA Games will offer one of the region’s premier stages for junior athletics, and Team Saint Lucia’s blend of sprint power, technical field strength, and middle-distance endurance positions the island for a promising campaign.
