Dominic Poleon fired a second-half equaliser as Ebbsfleet maintained their impressive recent run with a 1-1 home draw against Southend.

Southend, who extended their unbeaten run to 12 matches, led 1-0 at half-time after Harry Cardwell flicked home Oli Coker’s free-kick for his 17th league goal of the season.

Ebbsfleet had won five of their previous six league games and they responded in the second half when substitute Poleon raced on to Greg Cundle’s header and curled a fine finish beyond Southend goalkeeper Andeng Ndi.

James Morton volleyed a golden chance for Southend over the crossbar and in the closing stages Ebbsfleet goalkeeper Mark Cousins saved well to stop the ball rebounding in off his own player.

Emmanuel Dieseruvwe’s second-half penalty earned Hartlepool a 1-0 win over play-off chasing Halifax.

Dieseruvwe scored from the spot in the 73rd minute after Terrell Agyemang was brought down in the box.

Dieseruvwe had already twice gone close to scoring, seeing an early effort saved by Sam Johnson and then, five minutes into the second half, having a shot scrambled off the line by Tylor Golden after the Pools forward lifted the ball over the goalkeeper.

Halifax had threatened twice late in the first half, but Florent Hoti’s strike from range was narrowly wide while Rob Harker’s volley was held by Zak Johnson.

York gave their Vanarama National League survival hopes a major boost with a third successive victory after beating champions Chesterfield 2-1 at LNER Community Stadium.

Dipo Akinyemi had a goal ruled out for offside before Chesterfield, who beat Boreham Wood last week to wrap up the title, took a seventh-minute lead through Joe Quigley on his 100th appearance for the Spireites.

The Minstermen were back on level terms eight minutes after the restart when Akinyemi slid a ball through to Maz Kouhyar, who took a touch before rifling home.

And the home side found the winner in the 71st minute when Akinyemi picked his moment to arrow a left-footed strike through Ryan Boot at his near post to send York five points clear of the drop zone.

Dajaune Brown’s first-half strike sealed Gateshead a 1-0 home win against Rochdale and kept his side in the promotion hunt.

On-loan Derby forward Brown produced a classy finish for his ninth goal since arriving from Derby in January as Gateshead made it three straight wins.

Kain Adom’s volley for Gateshead was cleared off the goal-line before Brown put them in front in the 27th minute, chipping the ball over Rochdale goalkeeper Jacob Chapman after running on to Edward Francis’s pass.

Gateshead defender Louis Storey’s second-half header from Kieron Evans’ corner struck the crossbar, while Rochdale went close to an equaliser in the closing stages when Tyrese Sinclair’s effort was superbly saved by Nathan Harness.

Michael Cheek and Callum Reynolds were on target as Bromley won 2-0 at Dorking to get their National League promotion push back on track.

Cheek struck his 22nd goal of the season in all competitions, slotting home into the bottom corner after being slipped in by Olufela Olomola in the 13th minute.

Olomola struck a post from close range early in the second half and had another effort cleared off the goalline, with Cheek heading the rebound on to the crossbar.

Dorking went close to an equaliser against the run of play when Alfie Rutherford pulled his shot narrowly wide.

But Bromley added a second in the 72nd minute when Reynolds headed home at the back post from Idris Odutayo’s corner.

Wealdstone’s hopes of securing Vanarama National League survival were dealt a major blow by a 1-0 loss against already-relegated Oxford City.

City had lost nine of their 11 matches since beating Ebbsfleet two months ago but Josh Parker’s 24th-minute goal decided the points.

Parker converted a ball from Lewis Coyle and, despite Wealdstone’s efforts to find an equaliser, which included Charlie Barker’s header being cleared off the line in stoppage time, City held on.

The result leaves Wealdstone three points above the relegation zone but with games in hand on those around them.

Chris Conn-Clarke scored twice as promotion-chasing Altrincham came from behind to win 3-1 away to lowly Kidderminster.

The Harriers started well with Ashley Hemmings striking the post before Zak Brown put them in front in the 20th minute, hooking home after Altrincham failed to clear a corner.

But the visitors drew level just four minutes later with Lewis Banks laying the ball off for Regan Linney to finish after being played in by Conn-Clarke.

And the Northern Irishman then took over himself, turning in Alex Newby’s cross to put Altrincham in front in the 51st minute before bending in another shot with 17 minutes left.

Maidenhead routed nine-man Aldershot 4-0 to move away from trouble at the foot of the Vanarama National League.

The hosts burst out of the traps, scoring twice in the opening six minutes with Remy Clerima getting both, first heading in Sam Barratt’s free-kick before finishing from a corner.

Aldershot’s James Daly had an effort cleared off the line by Zico Asare late in the first half, but Maidenhead continued to dominate and got a third from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute, with Charlee Adams converting after Dylan Kadji fouled Ashley Nathaniel-George to earn a second yellow card.

Aldershot’s Christia Maghoma was then dismissed 12 minutes from time, conceding a second penalty which was again finished by Adams.

Nick Haughton scored one and created another as AFC Fylde won 3-1 at Oldham to deal a blow to the Latics’ promotion push.

Haughton looked dangerous from the very start as he hit a shot against the crossbar in the sixth minute, and he put the visitors ahead moments later as he turned in Connor Barrett’s cross.

It was 2-0 after 17 minutes when Adam King got his first Fylde goal, turning in a loose ball after a corner, with Haughton then volleying narrowly wide moments later after creating space for himself.

Ethan Mitchell headed in a third from Haughton’s cross in the 32nd minute. Oldham got one back through Dan Gardner just before the break, but any hopes of a second-half comeback were dashed by a 60th-minute red card for Mike Fondop.

Woking missed the chance to open up a seven-point gap on the Vanarama National League relegation zone as they were beaten 1-0 at home by Eastleigh.

Midfielder Solomon Nwabuokei struck midway through the first half for the visitors, heading home at the far post from a corner.

Woking hit the bar with a header of their own at the end of the first half as they sought a route back but, despite putting Eastleigh under intense pressure during five minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game, they could not force an equaliser.

The visitors are now six points clear of the bottom four.

Gateshead moved up to fourth in the Vanarama National League with a thumping 7-1 win against Hartlepool.

The visitors took a deserved lead in the eighth minute when Joe Grey almost allowed the chance to go begging before producing a neat finish.

Callum Whelan had a goal ruled out for Gateshead before they equalised from the penalty spot in the 28th minute. Luke Hannant slotted home after Dajaune Brown had been tripped in the area by Manny Onariase.

The home side went ahead early in the second half when Kieron Evans made the most of a poor attempted clearance and fired past Pete Jameson.

Brown headed home unmarked for 3-1 and it was four when Regan Booty drove through a crowded penalty area shortly afterwards.

Brown scored his second with a dinked finish and Whelan netted almost a carbon copy sixth with 15 minutes remaining.

Tom Allan sealed a thoroughly miserable night for the visitors with a late seventh.

Altrincham returned to winning ways with a 4-1 National League comeback victory at home to struggling Wealdstone.

Charlie Barker opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark, tapping the ball home following Aaron Henry’s corner for his second goal of the season.

Altrincham equalised through Alex Newby just four minutes later and the former Rochdale midfielder almost put the hosts ahead before half-time.

Summer recruit George Wilson fired the Robins ahead for the first time two minutes after the break with a powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard box and on the hour, Lewis Banks made it 3-1 when he picked out the top corner.

Regan Linney rounded off the win with 18 minutes remaining with his 10th goal of the season as Altrincham recorded their third win from their last four games to move up to sixth, while their opponents sit three points above the relegation zone.

Oli Coker scored twice as Southend kept alive their outside hopes of making the Vanarama National League play-offs with an impressive 3-0 win at Solihull Moors.

Coker opened the scoring midway through the first half, converting with ease after good work down the wing from Wes Fonguck.

Joe Sbarra came close to an equaliser but saw his low effort tipped behind by goalkeeper Colin Andeng Ndi.

Coker doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 37th minute, finishing off powerfully following a good run by Marcus Dackers, before Harry Cardwell wrapped up the points with Southend’s third goal in the 66th minute.

The Shrimpers climb to 10th, nine points off the play-off places with five games remaining, while Solihull slip to fifth.

Southend’s National League play-off prospects suffered a further dent after being held to a goalless draw by Woking at Roots Hall.

The Shrimpers drew for the sixth time in a 10-match unbeaten run which has left them 10 points adrift of the top seven with six games remaining.

Nathan Ralph had a close-range shot saved by Woking goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen before Noor Husin fired just over for the home side shortly after the break.

Jayden Luker had a shot well blocked by Southend stopper Collin Andeng Ndi while Dan Moss also shot wide for the visitors, who had won four of their last five.

Lee Angol, who has joined Woking on loan until the end of the season from Sutton, nearly capped his debut with the winner but his effort was well saved by Andeng Ndi.

National League play-off hopefuls Oldham were forced to settle for a fourth draw from their last five games as their match at Dagenham finished goalless.

Dion Pereira had a chance for the Daggers before team-mate Ryan Hill had an effort saved while, at the other end, home goalkeeper Elliot Justham made a great stop to deny Mark Kitching from close range.

Dagenham went close again when Hill picked out Josh Rees, but the midfielder dragged the ball wide before Pereira had an effort from distance saved by Mathew Hudson.

Pereira almost found the breakthrough in the 79th minute only to see his shot smash off the post while Hill fired over in the final minutes as the spoils were shared, leaving Oldham two points off the top seven.
