Jamaica’s Robert Simpson and Maureen Caesar have been confirmed as part of the lineup for the 2025 World Indoor Championships, set to take place from April 20-25 in Aberdeen, Scotland. The highly anticipated event, which will feature top-tier talent from around the globe, was officially announced on Sunday.

The six-day competition will bring together elite players from Europe, Oceania, the Americas, Asia, and Africa, ensuring a truly global spectacle. Athletes will vie for prestigious titles in men’s and women’s singles as well as mixed pairs competitions, setting the stage for fierce rivalries and world-class performances.

Jamaica’s representatives, Simpson and Caesar, will compete against some of the best in the sport, marking another milestone for the country in international indoor bowls. 

The competition will be intense, with defending women’s singles champion Nor Farrah Ain Abdullah of Malaysia looking to defend her title against a strong field, including Australia’s Kelsey Cottrell, New Zealand’s Tayla Bruce, and Malta’s Connie Rixon, among others. Meanwhile, the men’s field will feature WBS No. 3 Jack McShane of Australia, Scotland’s Stewart Anderson, and Wales’ Ross Owen, ensuring a high level of competition.

The 2025 World Indoor Championships will also welcome several debut nations, including Pakistan, Botswana, and the Falkland Islands, reinforcing the sport’s expanding international appeal.

World Bowls CEO Neil Dalrymple expressed excitement about the upcoming event, highlighting the strong collaboration between World Bowls, the International Indoor Bowls Council (IIBC), and Aberdeen Indoor Bowls Club in organizing the championship. IIBC president Gordon Woods also emphasized the event’s growing stature, noting that it will feature competitors from 32 countries and that Aberdeen remains one of the most prestigious venues for indoor bowls.
