Ja Maront was the Memphis Grizzlies' hero, scoring a last-gasp floater to steal victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Taylor Jenkins says Ja Morant is "built for those moments" after his late floater helped the Memphis Grizzlies snatch a dramatic victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Memphis had trailed by six points with less than five minutes remaining at Target Center.

However, Morant tied the contest inside the final minute and, with just 18.1 seconds remaining, landed an 11-foot baseline floater to seal a 127-125 win.

And his late exploits were no surprise to Grizzlies coach Jenkins.

"We know he’s built for those moments," he said. "You've got the utmost faith in that kid to take over a game at the end."

Anthony Edwards missed two three-point attempts in the dying moments as Minnesota saw their three-game winning streak come to an end.

The Timberwolves registered 83 shots to their opponents' 108.

"That's the game, to be honest, 25 more shots," Julius Randle said. "That's something that's hard to overcome. Still, we gave ourselves a chance to win."

"Offensively, it's coming together," added Donte DiVincenzo, who scored a season-high 27 points. "We're figuring things out.

"The reasons our heads are down here is because it's really simple: Take care of the ball and rebound the ball, and we win this game by double digits."
