League leaders Defence Force notched their seventh win in a row to start this season’s TT Premier Football League (TTPFL) with a 3-0 victory over second-placed MIC Central FC in match two of a double-header at La Horquetta Recreation Ground on January 17.

Isaiah Leacock opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the top-of-the-table clash before Shaquille Bertrand made it 2-0 five minutes later.

Seven minutes before halftime, Leacock completed the day’s scoring with his second and his third to secure the win and hand Central their second loss of the young season.

The first game of the double-header saw AC Port of Spain defeat last season’s runner’s up Miscellaneous Police FC 2-0 thanks to an73rd minute goal from Che Benny and a stoppage time strike from Josiah Wilson.

The result kept AC PoS (15 points) in third behind Central FC on goal difference.
