The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) has received a significant financial boost with a two-year sponsorship deal from the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC), marking a major step in the country’s football development.
The partnership, which was officially launched on Tuesday, at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva, coincided with the Soca Warriors’ emphatic Concacaf Gold Cup qualifying victory over Cuba and sets the stage for what both parties hope will be a transformative era for local football.
Under this agreement, NGC’s sponsorship will support key aspects of Trinidad and Tobago’s football ambitions, including the national team’s FIFA World Cup campaign, funding player preparation, and strengthening team logistics for international qualifiers and tournaments. The deal also extends to supporting the senior men’s national team’s local training camps, ensuring access to world-class facilities, technical staff, and match simulations.
Additionally, NGC’s backing will energize the Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League (TTPFL), creating pathways for emerging talent while fostering community engagement and youth empowerment through the sport.
At the official handover ceremony, NGC Chairman Dr. Joseph Ishmael Khan emphasized the company’s longstanding commitment to national sports development.
“Sport is one of the longstanding pillars of NGC’s extensive Corporate Social Responsibility programme because of the clear value it adds to society. Football is one of those sports that impassion our people, and we hold fast to hopes of returning to compete at the World Cup,” Khan stated.
"We at NGC have seen a role for us as a national company to invest in the pursuit of that national dream by helping to fund and facilitate the necessary groundwork that will get us there," he added.
