Jamaica’s young Reggae Girlz continued their dominant run in the Concacaf Under-20 Women’s Championship qualifiers, as they registered a convincing 4-0 victory over St Kitts and Nevis in another lopsided Group D encounter in Nicaragua on Saturday.

A first-half blitz, led by Maya Raghunandanan’s quickfire brace (24th, 26th), along with goals from Una Lue (15th) and Destiny Powell (45th), ensured Jamaica’s second consecutive win and provisionally pushed them to the top of the standings on six points—three ahead of group hosts Nicaragua, who were set to face St Vincent and the Grenadines later in the evening.

With only the group winner advancing to the Concacaf U-20 Women’s Championship, where they will battle for a spot in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the Reggae Girlz have put themselves in prime position to advance.

The Jamaicans dictated terms from the off as they pressed high up the pitch, allowing St Kitts and Nevis very little room to operate. Their relentless pressure paid off early when St Kitts and Nevis goalkeeper Tatyanna Daley fumbled a routine ball, allowing Lue to capitalize and fire home the opener.

Jamaica’s intensity only grew from there, and Raghunandanan announced herself in spectacular fashion when she rifled a right-footed shot from 20 yards out that left Daley rooted to the spot.

Just two minutes later, she was at it again, this time curling a delightful strike from outside the 18-yard box to put the Girlz 3-0 up in under half an hour.

The onslaught continued, and in the 39th minute, Raghunandanan almost completed her hat-trick with another venomous right-footer, but Daley managed to parry the effort.

Moments before the break, Jamaica added a fourth when Alyssa Stephenson slipped a neat pass inside to Powell, who made no mistake with a clinical finish to make it 4-0 at the break.

Despite being comfortably ahead, the Reggae Girlz maintained their attacking intent in the second half, though they struggled to break down a more disciplined St Kitts and Nevis defence.

Raghunandanan came close again in the 61st minute with a well-struck left-footed effort that Daley did well to keep out.

St Kitts and Nevis had their only real chance of the game in the 68th minute, but their attempt from a corner was easily dealt with.

Jamaica pressed on, with Raghunandanan again testing Daley from the top of the 18-yard box in the 75th minute, only to be denied once more. Two minutes later, Zoey Zaidie had a glorious chance to add a fifth, but her free header sailed over the crossbar.

With another dominant display in the books, the Reggae Girlz have one foot in the next round, but their fate will be decided in their final group game against Nicaragua on Monday, where they will need another strong performance to complete the feat.
