Captain Shemaine Campbelle led from the front with 77* as her Guyana Women secured a massive 122-run victory over the Leeward Islands Women in CG United Super50 Cup third round action at Warner Park in Basseterre on Friday.
Campbelle’s 97-ball knock included five fours and a six as Guyana posted 178 from 43.5 overs after being put in to bat by Leewards skipper Amanda Edwards.
The West Indies vice-captain got good support from Realeanna Grimmond and Ashmini Munisar who both made 30.
Medium pacer Kimberly Anthony took 3-20 from 5.5 overs and was well supported by Sainavi Kambalapalli and Davronique Maynard who took 2-30 off five overs and 2-41 off 10 overs, respectively.
The Leewards were then bundled out for a paltry 56 in 24.1 overs, succumbing to their third straight defeat.
Munisar led the bowling effort with 4-12 from 6.1 overs of off-spin while pacer Cherry-Fraser and fellow off-spinner Plaffiana Millington shared in the destruction with 3-18 from eight overs and 3-25 from 10 overs, respectively.
Captain Edwards top scored for the Leewards with 13*.
Guyana have now won two games in a row after a first-round defeat to Barbados and will look to continue their winning ways when they take on the Windward Islands in round four at the Conaree Sports Club on Monday.
The Leewards will look for their first win of the season when they take on Jamaica at Warner Park.
