Mumbai Indians lost to Gujarat Titans on Saturday, with Prasidh Krishna playing a key role with the ball after Sai Sudharsan's fine knock.
Gujarat Titans claimed their first win in the Indian Premier League this season as they beat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs.
Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna came up big for the Titans on Saturday as Gujarat moved up to third in the standings.
Sudharsan got the Titans' innings off to a strong start with an excellent 63, while he was ably supported by captain Shubman Gill (38) and Jos Buttler (39).
Those knocks carried the Titans, who had reached 179-4 by the time Sudharsan was pinned lbw by Trent Boult (1-34).
Hardik Pandya took 2-29, but Gujarat rounded out their 20 overs on 196-8, and Mohammed Siraj (2-34) swiftly set about dismantling Mumbai's top order.
Rohit Sharma dispatched his India team-mate for two boundaries but was bowled with just the fourth delivery of the Indians' chase, and fellow opener Ryan Rickelton suffered a similar fate in the fifth over.
Tilak Varma (39) and Suryakumar Yadav (48) steadied the ship, with the latter plundering four sixes, but Prasidh claimed his first wicket to break up the partnership, as Tilak picked out the fielder at long on.
Sai Kishore sent Robin Minz packing before Prasidh got Mumbai's other danger man, as Suryakumar, who had earlier taken a bouncer to the helmet, sliced a top edge that was easily held by Gill.
Kagiso Rabada got in on the act when he dismissed Pandya, as Prasidh finished with excellent figures of 2-18. Late flurries from Naman Dhir (18 not out) and Mitchell Santner (18 not out) proved fruitless for the Indians, who remain winless.
Data Debrief: No luck at the Narendra Modi
Gujarat have now faced the Indians on four occasions at the Narendra Modi Stadium, and they have won all four of those encounters.
Prasidh will take the plaudits for his bowling, and his spell proved decisive midway through Mumbai's innings. Not only did he break up the Indians' dangerous-looking duo of Tilak and Suryakumar, but he also bowled 14 dot balls, a team-high.
Sudharsan, meanwhile, is the second-leading scorer in the IPL this term, with his 137 trailing only Nicholas Pooran (145) of Lucknow Super Giants.
