Rees had already gone close when Ryan Hill ran on to Inih Effiong’s pull-back and blasted the ball past goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski to give the home side a fifth-minute lead.
Daggers had to wait until nine minutes before the break to extend their advantage when Frank Vincent found the top corner with a stunning strike, and Effiong matched his accuracy with a curled stoppage-time effort to send them in at the break, 3-0 to the good.
Effiong doubled his tally within 40 seconds of the restart with his 14th goal of the season and although Jacob Roddy swiftly reduced the deficit, Rees made it 5-1 with just five minutes of the second half played.
Rees helped himself to an acrobatic second and completed his treble with eight minutes remaining to round off a fine afternoon as Dagenham moved up four places to 11th.
Stokes was released by Cian Harries’ through-ball five minutes before half-time and he slotted past goalkeeper Nathan Ashmore to score his sixth goal since joining the club this summer.
Jordi van Stappershoef kept Aldershot’s lead intact with a fine save to deny half-time substitute Angelo Balanta.
And Haji Mnoga added a second for the visitors in the 55th minute when he was allowed to stride forward with the ball before picking out the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Balanta scored on the hour mark following a corner but the hosts could not force a comeback as their winless home run extended to five games.
The Shots had won 7-4 at Swindon in the FA Cup last weekend and made another positive start here to take the lead in the 24th minute.
Cian Harries sent a long ball forward, which was flicked on by Lorent Tolaj and Josh Stokes drilled his shot into the bottom corner.
Kidderminster threatened early in the second half when Amari Morgan-Smith set up Ben Tollitt, but the midfielder’s shot was off target.
With 20 minutes left, Harriers captain Krystian Pearce fired over from close range following a long throw into the box and Morgan-Smith saw a late header deflected wide as Aldershot held on for the win.
They went ahead inside two minutes as Josh Stones met a diagonal ball with a sweet half-volley into the bottom corner.
The Latics, who have now won five of their last seven league games, pushed for another and James Norwood twice went close early in the second half.
Substitute Anthony Mancini was lively for Hartlepool and forced two saves from Mathew Hudson but Oldham wrapped up the points five minutes from time when Mike Fondop poked home from a corner.
The potent Tshimanga scored after five minutes, and the hosts doubled their lead in the 28th minute when Fylde’s Ethan Mitchell turned the ball into his own net, adding to a disappointing start for the visitors.
Matt Robinson also got on the scoresheet just before the break as Boreham Wood strengthened their grip on the match.
Tshimanga then grabbed his second of the match five minutes from time to help end a run of two straight defeats for the Hertfordshire side.
Alan Devonshire’s side had pushed Sky Bet League One outfit Oxford close in a 2-0 loss in round one of the FA Cup last weekend and bounced back to stun high-flying Halifax.
Ferdinand broke the deadlock in the 36th minute when he flicked home after Jayden Mitchell-Lawson’s cross.
It remained 1-0 until half-time, but Maidenhead were reduced to 10 men when Charlee Adams was shown a second yellow card in the 85th minute.
Halifax piled on the pressure afterwards, but late saves by Craig Ross helped the hosts move up to 20th.
Bromley were forced to make an early substitution after Soul Kader went down injured twice – he was replaced by Bim Pepple.
The visitors to Aggborough had their work cut out early on as Cole Kpekawa was dismissed for an off-ball incident in the 21st minute. Eventually both sides ended up playing with 10 men after Jack Lambert picked up his second yellow card.
The Harriers continued to create chances, but were unable to convert them as they saw out a stalemate.
Harriers took a sixth-minute lead when Ashley Hemmings poked home, but the hosts equalised in the 31st minute when Matt Preston tried to clear the ball from a cross and turned it into his own net.
The Reds restored their advantage three minutes into the second half, however, Zak Brown tucking away the rebound after Ryan Boot had made an excellent one-on-one save.
Preston then sealed matters by scoring at the right end, the defender supplying the finish just before the hour mark after Chesterfield were unable to clear from a long throw-in.
Lambert hit the winner four minutes into the second half to earn Harriers their sixth victory in eight league matches since Brown replaced Russell Penn as boss last month.
They saw out the final few moments with 10 men after Krystian Pearce was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
Kidderminster rise a place to 21st, separated by goal difference from 20th-placed York, who have played a game fewer. Andy Whing’s Solihull, who had won three of their last four in the league, remain fourth.
Pools, who had their new manager Kevin Phillips watching from the stand again as he completes a touchline ban, had the best chances of the first half.

But Kidderminster responded in the second half and, after Jay Emmanuel-Thomas struck the post in the 65th minute, they levelled seven minutes from time as Morgan-Smith applied the rebound to his own shot after Theo Richardson could only parry.
It took seven minutes for the away side to open the scoring when Tom Crawford’s cross was turned into his own goal by Reiss McNally.
Kidderminster were on level terms just after the half-hour mark when Amari-Morgan Smith nodded home from a corner.
Hartlepool went in search for a winner and almost had one in the 86th minute when Callum Cooke let fly from distance but Christian Dibble touched behind to ensure the game ended level.

The best chances of the first half at Aggborough came towards the end of the period, with Rhys Browne firing just wide for the visitors before Woking goalkeeper Will Jaaskelainen denied Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain with a fine save.
Jaaskelainen also did well on the hour mark as Harriers threatened again and, after Woking had gone close through Robbie Willmott and Scott Cuthbert, the promoted side almost snatched victory when Ashley Hemmings saw his stoppage-time effort hit the bar.

Brown’s afternoon got off to a bad start when Josh Stokes fired the visitors into a fifth-minute lead from Lorent Tolaj’s cut-back, and it took a further turn for the worse with 24 minutes gone when Cian Harries sent keeper Christian Dibble the wrong way from the penalty spot after a foul on Tolaj.
However, things picked up markedly for the home side on the half-hour when, after Morgan-Smith had been fouled, Hemmings converted the resulting spot-kick, and he repeated the dose seven minutes before the break when he span on Caleb Richards’ cross to fire home an equaliser.
Morgan-Smith completed a remarkable fightback three minutes after the restart when he headed the home side in front for the first time from Alex Penny’s cross, and there was more to come 12 minutes from time as substitute Omatayo followed up to score after Hemmings’ initial effort had been saved.
The Spitfires took the lead in the 32nd minute when Paul McCallum headed in a cross from Jake Vokins.
Kidderminster rallied in the second half and had several late chances to snatch an equaliser.
Jack Lambert saw his goal-bound effort saved by Eastleigh goalkeeper Joe McDonnell, who then denied Jay Emmanuel-Thomas before captain Amari Morgan-Smith nodded wide as Kidderminster’s fate was sealed.
Both teams had chances, with Harriers having the better of the first half as Sam Bellis shot wide and Reiss McNally’s effort was deflected behind.
Dorking’s Josh Taylor drew a sharp save from Christian Dibble in the second half and George Francomb’s free-kick was headed wide by Jason Prior.
But Kidderminster could have won it late on as Gold Omotayo headed Ashley Hemmings’ cross wide and Shane Byrne’s stoppage-time effort was smothered by Dorking keeper Harrison Male.
Oli Coker netted from an early cross but the home side responded with a powerful finish by Ashley Hemmings.
Southend regained the lead in first-half stoppage time when defender Nathan Ralph leapt high to nod home a corner.
Kidderminster piled on the pressure in the closing moments and had the ball cleared off the line.
Wealdstone had looked set to move five points clear of trouble thanks to Max Kretzschmar’s goal on the stroke of half-time but Ashley Hemmings levelled in the 82nd minute to earn third-bottom Kidderminster a fourth-successive draw.
David Noble’s hosts may still be wondering how they failed to take an 18th-minute lead at Grosvenor Vale, Charlie Barker seeing his backheel saved by Christian Dibble before Kallum Cesay hit the crossbar from the loose ball and Sean Adarkwa subsequently firing against the post.
Stones also had a Barker goal disallowed and lost leading scorer Adarkwa to injury before they took the lead in first-half stoppage-time through Kretzschmar.
That seemed increasingly likely to be the winning goal as Marcus Dewhurst did well to deny Harriers duo Amari Morgan-Smith and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, but the Stones goalkeeper was finally beaten when Hemmings latched onto Jack Lambert’s through ball to equalise.
Kidderminster almost snatched a dramatic stoppage-time winner – and a fifth victory in their last seven away games – but Krystian Pearce’s header struck the crossbar.
Chances were few and far between in a disappointing first half and it looked as if the game would end goalless when Jack Barham’s 80th-minute goal was disallowed for offside.
The home side were not to be denied though, Thomas getting a vital touch on a shot from Tyler Frost to divert the ball beyond Bees goalkeeper Josh Keeley.
Barnet were unable to find an equaliser in the seven minutes of stoppage time as they failed to take advantage of second-placed Bromley being held to a 2-2 draw by Dagenham & Redbridge.
