Jamaican motorsport is poised for another historic leap as emerging racing stars Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell, sons of legendary drivers Doug Gore and David Summerbell Jr., are reportedly in advanced talks with German automotive giant Porsche to become their main sponsor for the 2025 ADAC GT4 Germany Championship season.

Fresh off a groundbreaking third-place podium finish in the 2024 ADAC GT4 Germany Championship, the duo has impressed motorsport insiders and fans alike with their skill and determination on the track. The partnership with Porsche would mark a significant milestone for the young Jamaican drivers, propelling them further into the European racing spotlight.

Gore and Summerbell began their 2024 campaign piloting an Audi R8 under the SAPE Motor Sports banner, representing the Caribbean with pride. Despite a challenging start to the season, their undeniable potential led to a pivotal mid-season switch to a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport under W&S Motorsport. The change sparked a turnaround in their performance, culminating in their historic podium finish.

“It’s been an amazing journey for two young men from Jamaica, who came out of nowhere and jumped into the line of fire. It was challenging, but we’re extremely proud of their achievements,” said Doug Gore during a sponsor appreciation reception at the S Hotel in Montego Bay on Saturday, December 14, 2024. “We’re now looking to build on this success in 2025, with Porsche and other sponsors joining the journey.”

Gore and Summerbell’s 2024 season was nothing short of trailblazing. The pair captured third place in their first race and delivered a top-5 finish in the final event, securing Jamaica’s first-ever trophies in the series. Their performance also marked the first time Jamaica was represented in the renowned European GT4 motorsport event.

The ADAC GT4 racing series, which comprised six race events held at legendary circuits in Germany and Austria from April to October, also saw the Jamaican duo achieve an impressive 14th overall placing in the Championships. Reflecting on their journey, Summerbell shared how the support of their loved ones kept them motivated.

“Most nights, our family and friends would call to check in on us, and this kept us motivated. We are anticipating an exciting 2025 series and will work towards surpassing the expectations we had for this year,” said Summerbell.

The reception was an opportunity for Gore and Summerbell to thank their sponsors, including early supporters like Sherwin Williams. Kenneth Richardson, District Manager for Sherwin Williams, expressed pride in their association with the racers.

“This is one of the greatest partnerships in motorsport right now. We’re thrilled to have been part of this historic journey with Tommi and Senna,” Richardson said.

Other sponsors acknowledged included the S Hotel, Q8 Oils (Bearings and Accessories), Sandals Resorts, Jamaica Tourist Board, Barita Investments, Mobay Freight, JSRA, and Bell Safety. Christopher Issa, CEO of the Crissa Group, praised the duo for their teamwork and dedication.

“This is a win for brand Jamaica,” Issa said. “Tommi and Senna have shown that teamwork leads to success. We’re proud to support their groundbreaking achievements and look forward to the 2025 season.”

Tommi Gore and Senna Summerbell are building on the illustrious legacies of their fathers, both legends in Jamaican and Caribbean motorsport. Doug “Hollywood” Gore and David Summerbell Jr. have competed at the highest levels, earning accolades across the region and beyond.

After gaining experience in the Caribbean Radical Cup and Radical Cup UK, Gore made his Formula 4 Central Europe debut in 2023. Reflecting on their 2024 ADAC GT4 journey, Gore said, “When we saw the big names in the series, we were optimistic about finishing in the top 10. Our podium finish was an incredible achievement, not just for us but for Jamaica. We’re excited to push even harder in 2025.”

Meanwhile, Summerbell, a four-time Jamaican karting champion, has competed internationally in events like the Radical Caribbean Cup and Formula Prototype Canada. He credited the unwavering support of family and friends for their success, saying, “Scouting for sponsors while balancing school and racing wasn’t easy, but their belief in us kept us going. This is just the beginning.”

With Porsche potentially stepping in as a major partner, Gore and Summerbell aim to surpass their 2024 accomplishments and solidify their place among Europe’s elite racers. Their journey exemplifies the power of perseverance, teamwork, and national pride, inspiring a new generation of Caribbean motorsport talent.

As the motorsport world eagerly watches, these Reggae Racers are proving that with passion and determination, the Jamaican flag can fly high on tracks worldwide.
