Maxfield Park FC turned in a dominant performance on Sunday as they blanked Liguanea United FC 3-0 in their Zone A clash in the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) Wray & Nephew Major League.
Matthew Allen starred with a clinical brace while Mark Malcolm added another to round out an emphatic win for Maxfield, who continue to make their case as genuine contenders in this year’s competition.
It was one of several high-scoring affairs across both zones, as goals rained down at venues across the Corporate Area.
In another entertaining Zone A matchup, Seaview Gardens FC edged Cooreville Gardens FC 3-2 in a five-goal thriller. The game saw both teams trading blows in a contest that showcased attacking flair and defensive frailty.
Meanwhile, Red Hills United FC cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Pembroke Hall FC thanks to goals from Donovan Segree and Jordan Brown. Red Hills’ organized pressing and clinical finishing proved too much for the home side, who struggled to create meaningful opportunities.
Over in Zone B, Mountain View FC kept their foot on the gas with a solid 3-1 victory over Allman/Woodford FC. Despite Ezran Simpson’s goal for the home team, Mountain View’s overall dominance saw them secure all three points and consolidate their position near the top of the standings.
New Kingston FC continued their fine run of form with a 4-1 demolition of Central Kingston FC. It was another confident display from New Kingston, who are quickly becoming one of the league’s most formidable attacking units.
Bull Bay FC also got in on the action, defeating Rockfort FC 3-1 in yet another away win on the day. The result marked a critical three points for Bull Bay as the battle for playoff spots begins to heat up.
