Travis Williams runs 6.55 for second in 60m at New Mexico Collegiate Classic

Jamaican USC senior Travis Williams ran a swift 6.55 for second in the men’s 60m final at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico on Saturday. Williams ran times of 6.62 in the heats and 6.61 in the semi-finals.

Texas Tech senior Shawn Brown took the win in 6.52 while Williams’ teammate Eddie Nketia was third in 6.60.

Bahamian Texas Tech standout Antoine Andrews took the win in the men’s 60m hurdles in 7.62 ahead of LSU’s Matthew Sophia (7.69) and Texas’ Kendrick Smallwood (7.70).

A number of Caribbean athletes also narrowly missed out on top three spots in their respective events.

Trinidadian Texas senior Kelsey Daniel jumped 15.38m for fourth in the men’s triple jump. 

Cayman Islands and LSU star Jaiden Reid ran 20.82 for fifth in the men’s 200m.
