After an injury-plagued 2024 season that hindered his title defence at the Paris Olympics, Hansle Parchment, the 2021 Olympic 110m hurdles champion, is refocusing on the fundamentals as he builds toward the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September. The two-time World Championship silver medallist (2015, 2023) and 2012 Olympic bronze medallist spoke with Sportsmax.TV at the launch of the 2025 ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships at Stadium East in Kingston last week, detailing his new approach to training and competition.

Lyndon Cooper, President of the St. Lucia Football Association (SLFA), has been elected President of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) following the organization’s 48th Ordinary Congress at the Royalton Hotel in Cap Estate, St. Lucia, on Sunday. Cooper, who had served as Vice President of the CFU Executive Committee since 2012, was elected by acclamation, running unopposed in accordance with CFU statutes. His appointment marks the beginning of a new era for Caribbean football, as he aims to foster greater unity and development within the region while strengthening ties with FIFA and Concacaf.

Trinidad and Tobago will send a two-member team to the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, from March 21-23, with Olympian Michelle-Lee Ahye and multi-talented Tyra Gittens-Spotsville set to compete on the global stage. The National Association of Athletics Administrations of Trinidad and Tobago (NAAA) confirmed their selections as the country aims to make an impact at the prestigious event.

Jamaican Olympian Christania Williams made a memorable debut at the IBSF World Championships in Lake Placid, where she and her Austrian driver Katrin Beierl secured a ninth-place finish in the two-woman bobsled event over two days of intense competition.

Although Williams, competing under the Austrian flag, had hoped to finish in the top six, she embraced the experience and took valuable lessons from her first appearance at a world championship event in the sport.
