General Secretary of the Jamaica Volleyball Association (JaVA), Audley Weir, has been selected to participate in an International Olympic Committee (IOC) Advanced Sports Management Course through the Olympic Solidarity program and the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA).
The Olympic Solidarity program is a global initiative by the IOC that helps National Olympic Committees develop their sports programs.
The program’s goal is to support NOCs, especially those that need help the most, as well as to promote Olympic values.
The Advanced Sport Management Course targets staff and volunteers of National Federations and other bodies responsible for sport development in their country.
“With years of dedication and experience, Audley continues to make significant strides in Jamaica and the region,” the JVA said in an Instagram post on Friday.
“We extend congratulations to Audley and look forward to the knowledge and expertise he will bring back to benefit the volleyball community in Jamaica,” they continued.
In addition to his role at the JaVA, Weir is also a member of CAZOVA’s Public Relations and Marketing Committee and is involved with two NORCECA Commissions: Technical, Statistics & VIS and Beach Volleyball.
