Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend won the women's doubles title at the Australian Open by defeating Jelena Ostapenko and Hsieh Su-wei.
Katerina Siniakova equalled the feats of greats Martina Hingis, Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver at the Australian Open on Sunday.
Siniakova, who was beaten by Iga Swiatek in the first round of the women's singles at Melbourne Park, claimed glory on the final day of the season's first grand slam as she won the women's doubles title with partner Taylor Townsend.
The top-seeded pair of Siniakova and Townsend downed Hsieh Su-wei and Jelena Ostapenko, the 2017 French Open women's singles champion, in a thrilling final, prevailing 6-2 6-7 (4-7) 6-3.
In the process, Siniakova, the world number one in doubles, matched some of tennis' greatest players.
She became the 22nd woman to win their 10th doubles grand slam title, but the first since Hingis at Wimbledon in 2015.
Siniakova has now scooped three Australian Open titles, matching her tallies at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
In doing so, the Czech became just the sixth woman to win at least three doubles crowns at three of the grand slams, joining Shriver and Navratilova, who won a record 31 doubles titles at the majors, on that list, alongside Natasha Zvereva, Gigi Fernandez and Jana Novotna.
On Saturday, Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten won the men's doubles title, overcoming Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in an epic.
