Defending champions Barbados opened the 21st Jean Pierre Caribbean Youth Netball Tournament with a win on home court over Antigua and Barbuda at the Wildey Gymnasium on Sunday.
Barbados led 11-2 after the first quarter and 22-3 at halftime. The lead swelled even further to 32-4 at the end of the third quarter before they eventually won by a landslide, 46-7.
The hosts will take on Dominica on Monday.
Barbados, Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda are joined by Saint Lucia, Grenada a d Trinidad & Tobago in the six-team tournament set to continue through to April 12.
Fifteen matches are scheduled for play on six playing days.
