Arnett Gardens delivered one of the most dominant performances in Jamaica Women’s Premier League history on the weekend, demolishing Springers United 15-0 in a breathtaking display of attacking football that kept them firmly in the title hunt.
A blistering five-goal haul from Shikira Douglas highlighted the one-sided affair, as she struck in the 10th, 11th, 18th, 31st, and 34th minutes. Suen Gregory opened the floodgates in the 3rd and added a second in the 19th, while Tuanashae Hamilton chipped in with goals in the 39th and 82nd.
Springers United’s nightmare was compounded by an own goal in the 41st minute, and further strikes from Tatyana Black (57th, 62nd), Tasheka Reid (71st, penalty), Shaunalee Johnson (76th), and Naomi Moulton (90+1) capped off the rout.
In another high-scoring encounter, Cavalier overwhelmed Federal United 11-2. Shanel Spence led the charge with five goals (4th, 5th, 8th, 52nd, 90+1), while Shadie Shirley (16th, 70th), Jynell Graham (28th), and Deshanna Cole (61st, 72nd, 75th) added to the tally. Despite being on the receiving end of a heavy defeat, Federal managed to find the net through Africke Beckford (29th) and Yasheka Lewis (45+1).
Meanwhile, Real Mobay fell 2-0 at home to WiFi FC, with Tashel Davis (11th) and Kafele Gibbs (37th) scoring the goals that secured three points for the visitors.
Los Perfectos edged Mile Gully 2-1 in a tightly contested match. Judeen Ebanks gave Mile Gully a 6th-minute lead, but veteran striker Veniecia Reid equalised in the 32nd before an own goal in the 60th tilted the game in Los Perfectos’ favour.
Proven Girls FC left it late to defeat UWI FC 1-0, with Julicia Pinnock netting the winner in the 89th minute to keep Proven’s campaign on track.
