Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League action is set to resume after the Professional Football Jamaica Limited (PFJL) and the referees reached an amicable agreement on Tuesday, ending the disruption that forced the postponement of matches earlier this week.

The PFJL confirmed the resolution following a crucial meeting with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) and the Jamaica Football Referees Association (JFRA). The referees had withdrawn their services due to outstanding payments, leading to the cancellation of games scheduled for Sunday and Monday.

However, after productive discussions, all parties have come to an agreement, ensuring that the league will proceed as planned. Matches scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, March 5 and 6, 2025, will go ahead as scheduled.

"The Jamaica Premier League is the heartbeat of football in our country, impacting countless lives and livelihoods. We extend our sincere apologies to the fans and all those affected by the postponements last match weekend. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring such interruptions do not reoccur," Chris Williams, Chairman of the PFJL, stated.

JFF President Michael Ricketts also welcomed the resolution, emphasizing the importance of fairness and consistency in the league.

"The JFF remains dedicated to upholding fairness and balance in all aspects of the sport. We are excited to witness the return of matches in the fiercely contested Jamaica Premier League and urge fans to show their unwavering support," Ricketts said.

Meanwhile, JFRA President Valdin Ledgister expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the discussions and assured that referees are ready to return to officiating.

"The Association and all its members are thrilled with the resolution reached during the past 48 hours and are fully prepared to officiate matches," Ledgister noted.
