Rochdale come from behind to beat Aldershot

The visitors took the lead after 37 minutes as Jack Barham’s close-range strike from Lorent Tolaj’s cross went in off the post.

Five minutes later, Dale equalised with a scrappy goal as Jimmy Keohane tapped the ball home from close range for his fifth league goal of the season after Jesurun Uchegbulam had his initial shot saved by the diving Jordi Van Stappershoef.

The hosts’ second-half pressure paid off as summer signing Kairo Mitchell headed home the winner 10 minutes from time following a corner and some great team play.

Tommy Willard fired wide from range in a bid for a late equaliser at the death but Shots went home empty-handed.

Rochdale get back to winning ways with victory over Kidderminster

It took the hosts, beaten by lowly Fylde last time out, until the 59th minute to break the deadlock at the Crown Oil Arena.

The goal was worth the wait, with Tyrese Sinclair chesting the ball down and hitting a high volley on the turn that looped over keeper Christian Dibble.

Dale doubled their lead in the 71st minute through veteran Ian Henderson’s 10th of the season, the 38-year-old sliding in to convert from a free-kick.

Rochdale hold on for third straight win and increase Dagenham’s home woes

Cian Hayes opened the scoring for Rochdale after half an hour, smashing in off the underside of the bar.

Ian Henderson lifted the ball over the goalkeeper to double the away side’s advantage in the 53rd minute.

The Daggers were back in it with nine minutes remaining when Frank Vincent squeezed his shot past Louie Moulden but Dale held on for a third successive victory, inflicting a seventh home loss of the season on the hosts.

Rochdale leave it late to stage remarkable turnaround and beat Dorking

Recent signing Tom Blair scored his first goal for the club to seemingly put Dorking on the way to a third successive victory, breaking the deadlock just prior to the hour mark after turning his man before drilling home at the near post.

Dorking goalkeeper Harrison Male made several fine saves to keep Rochdale at bay but the visitors levelled a minute from time when captain Ethan Ebanks-Landell lashed home the loose ball from 12 yards.

The home side then had Dan Pybus sent off for a second yellow card before 38-year-old Henderson pounced to divert in Jimmy Keohane’s cross.

Rochdale make it a hat-trick of wins with victory against Maidenhead

Devante Rodney scored the only goal in the 38th minute, reacting quickest to head home following Craig Ross’s save from Kairo Mitchell’s shot.

Will de Havilland headed just wide for Maidenhead moments before half-time and he also saw a shot well saved by Jacob Chapman midway through the second half.

Jimmy Keohane had a golden opportunity to double the hosts’ lead in the 65th minute but Ross saved from close range.

Maidenhead kept pushing for an equaliser and they almost found it but Chapman turned behind Casey Pettit’s curling effort late on.

Rochdale return to winning ways with victory against Fylde

Ian Henderson put Dale on course for a first victory in four league matches by lifting the ball over visiting goalkeeper Theo Richardson just before the break.

Rochdale keeper Louie Moulden produced fine saves to prevent a second-half equaliser, denying substitute Danny Ormerod and then Jon Ustabasi.

Fylde captain Harry Davis also went close with a header before Dale substitute Kwaku Oduroh put the result beyond doubt with a breakaway goal five minutes into added time.

Rochdale shoot down Spitfires to maintain upward momentum

Dale took the lead in the 28th minute through Kairo Mitchell, but the Spitfires were soon level when Paul McCallum headed in.

The visitors, though, were back in front just before half-time when Jimmy Keohane swept in a cross at the far post.

Devante Rodney fired in Dale’s third goal before Mitchell got his second of the match after being played in by Cian Hayes.

Rochdale start National League campaign with defeat to Ebbsfleet

Luke O’Neill’s brilliant strike in the first half was enough for Fleet to take the points in the National League opener at Spotland.

The full-back met Toby Edser’s corner with an audacious near-post flick that sailed into the far corner.

Rochdale almost got back into it as Kairo Mitchell thundered an effort against the crossbar, but Ebbsfleet also hit the woodwork at the death through Billy Clifford.

Rochdale survive late onslaught to claim National League win at Hartlepool

They opened the scoring after two minutes when a ball over the top from goalkeeper Louie Moulden picked out Cian Hayes and he finished neatly past Joel Dixon.

The visitors’ second goal was as simple as the first with a ball forward flicked on by the head of Kairo Mitchell to Jimmy Keohane and he slotted home.

Dale added a third when Ryan East lashed in from outside the area but there was still time for Nicky Featherstone to pull a goal back for Hartlepool before the break.

The goal gave Pools renewed hope of salvaging something and after Mani Dieseruvwe made it 3-2 with an 83rd-minute header, Christopher Wreh brought a decent save from Moulden and Dieseruvwe kicked the air from two yards with the goal gaping.

Rock-bottom Oxford City beaten again as Aldershot boost play-off push

The Hoops are 10 points behind second-bottom Woking and are rooted to the foot of the table, with a 2-1 defeat extending their winless run to seven matches.

Lorent Tolaj put the visitors in front but Lewis Coyle levelled for Oxford before the half-hour.

Aldershot, though, would secure the three points as Josh Stokes’ first-half effort proved enough for victory.

Ryan East bags a brace as Rochdale east past Altrincham challenge

The ninth-placed hosts took just 15 minutes to grab the opener when East drilled a low shot home after good work from team-mate Harvey Gilmour.

Altrincham missed a golden chance to equalise just past the half-hour when Chris Conn-Clarke saw his penalty saved by Rochdale goalkeeper Louie Moulden.

The hosts withstood more pressure before East hammered his second into the top corner in the 63rd minute, and Kairo Mitchell fired in a rebound eight minutes later to complete the scoring.

Ryan Fallowfield hits dramatic late winner for York

Padraig Amond had a great chance to give Woking the lead in the 20th minute after racing onto Zak Bradshaw’s pass but he hit the post when one-on-one with Ryan Whitley.

The visitors opened the scoring moments later when Lenell John-Lewis’ long-range effort took a huge deflection and looped in over William Jaaskelainen.

Ricky Korboa equalised for Woking just before the hour mark from close range after reacting quickest to Whitley’s double save from Amond.

John-Lewis went close to restoring York’s lead but he hit the bar with a header and the follow-up from Dan Batty was well saved by Jaaskelainen.

Korboa was also denied by the woodwork for the hosts in the 75th minute with a curling effort which struck the crossbar and post.

There was more drama to come as Josh Casey remarkably headed Paddy McLaughlin’s shot off the line but the ball bounced off the post and into the path of Fallowfield, who tucked home from a yard out.

Ryan Glover and Tyler Frost get Aldershot back to winning ways

Fylde almost took a 16th-minute lead but Jack Bycroft denied Luke Charman with a superb reaction save and the goalkeeper was again sharp to turn away Siya Ligendza’s effort.

The deadlock was finally broken after 69 minutes when Kwame Thomas played in Ryan Glover and his left-footed effort nestled in the bottom corner of the net.

Ligendza thought he had equalised 10 minutes later but his effort was ruled out for offside before Tyler Frost rifled home from 25 yards to wrap up victory for the Shots.

Ryan Hill and Omar Mussa help Dagenham beat Wealdstone

Strevens’ men had been winless until Saturday’s narrow 1-0 triumph over London rivals Barnet, but they followed it up by claiming more bragging rights against an opponent from the capital.

After a goalless first 45 minutes at Grosvenor Vale, Dagenham broke the deadlock three minutes into the second half when Nikola Tavares burst forward and found Hill, who steered past Wealdstone goalkeeper Jed Ward.

The hosts pushed for an equaliser but Tavares’ fine last-ditch tackle denied Micah Obiero the chance to get a shot off on goal and the visitors secured the points with seven minutes left.

Mussa let fly and his effort was too powerful for Ward to help Dagenham move up to 13th.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney insist they will not get bored at Wrexham

Wrexham ended a 15-year absence from the English Football League last month as the two actors’ investment in the Welsh club paid handsome dividends.

The pair took over the club from the Wrexham Supporters Trust in February 2021 and have invested heavily on infrastructure and strengthening manager Phil Parkinson’s squad since, with some reports suggesting an outlay of over £10million.

“I find it fascinating there are people who assume this could ever be boring in any stretch of the imagination,” said McElhenney, speaking on the Fearless in Devotion podcast.

“The things we have done and felt in the last two-and-a-half years just don’t exist in our worlds – or any world that I can think of.

“So getting bored would never be on the list of things that would happen.

“But I also think about any cynicism or criticism that we might get, that is simply by nature just not creative in any way or helpful in any way, is generally just a reflection of how someone is feeling about themselves or something they may have gone through in their life.”

Reynolds has made it clear that he wants to take Wrexham to the Premier League and admitted that his involvement in football has become an “addiction”.

He said: “We don’t pretend it’s just salad days ahead. It’s a journey.

“It’s making sure that no matter what we do as stewards of this club we are avoiding stasis or backtracking at all cost.

“That can sometimes happen, at least from when I’ve observed other clubs, you can get in this cycle where you’re just keeping your head above water.

“So we always want to be on that inexorable march forward, not just as a club but as a community, and Rob and I love Wrexham about as much as two human beings could love anything on this planet.”

Wrexham are expected to strengthen again this summer in order to make a League Two promotion challenge next season.

Reynolds and McElhenney insist they were serious over their failed bid to lure former Real Madrid and Wales star Gareth Bale out of retirement to play for Wrexham, but are adamant they will not be “writing cheques to keep the business of the club afloat”.

McElhenney said: “From the beginning we’ve been talking about what our short-term strategy is and what our long-term strategy is because we’ve always said we want to build a sustainable business.

“We look at the entire club as a massive investment – an investment in the club, town and future.

“And neither one of us wants to put ourselves or the club in a position where any one of us are just writing cheques to keep the business of the club afloat.

“Everything we’ve done since we’ve come in is to ensure no matter who comes in – and hopefully it’s us for the rest of our lives – we are building a sustainable business. Whatever that might mean in the future, who’s to say?”

Deadpool star Reynolds said he was contemplating Wrexham’s future within hours of them capturing the National League title.

Reynolds said: “Almost the next day I was so excited to dig in to what’s next for the club, which I’m proud to say and deeply regretful to say because I should have enjoyed that moment, which I did.

“But I’m so excited to repeat that feeling as much as possible and just grow, grow, grow as big as we can possibly get and continue to deliver.

“The great moments we’ve had so far do not exist without the bad. That’s football.

“It’s a heart-breaking sport and I’m addicted to it now and you have to have both.”

Sam Barratt scores twice as Maidenhead ease to Oxford City victory

Sam Beckwith, Sam Barratt and Reece Smith scored between the 18th and 26th minutes as the Magpies took a firm grip on proceedings.

Barratt, back for a second spell at Maidenhead after returning on loan from Barnet, added a fourth on the hour mark with a superb shot from distance.

Latrell Humphrey-Ewers struck a consolation from the edge of the box as Oxford City remain in the relegation zone.

Sam Bowen earns overdue win for Wealdstone

The hosts had won just one of their previous seven games before Bowen struck from the edge of the box to seal a 1-0 victory.

Bowen’s goal came just after the 15-minute mark and he almost repeated the feat five minutes later but this time shot wide.

Goalkeeper Jed Ward made a number of crucial saves to keep Woking at bay as the home side secured the points.

Sam Bowen shines as Wealdstone beat Oxford City

The hosts had not won since the end of September and fell behind to Josh Parker’s 28th-minute opener from a set-piece.

Kyle Smith quickly levelled for the hosts when he found the bottom corner.

The second half was all about Bowen as he put his side in front three minutes after the restart with a finish high into the net and then killed the game in the 57th minute with a curled effort into the top corner.

Sam Mather scores equaliser as Rochdale deny Oxford City

Dale had taken the lead in the 11th minute when Kairo Mitchell sprung the offside trap and slotted home.

But two goals in seven first-half minutes put City on course for a first win in eight games.

Harvey Greenslade levelled when he flicked home from a set-piece in the 28th minute and then Josh Parker converted from Harry Birtwhistle’s cross.

But Dale earned a point when Manchester United loanee Mather finished from 10 yards in the 77th minute.

Scott Burgess and Ryan Fallowfield on target as York take points home from Fylde

The Minstermen, unbeaten in their last two fixtures after the FA Cup first-round draw at Chester, took an early lead when Scott Burgess volleyed in Ryan Fallowfield’s cross from close range.

Fallowfield then got on the end of a cut-back from Dipo Akinyemi to put City 2-0 up in the 28th minute.

Fylde, who were looking to get out of the relegation zone with a third-straight league win, pushed to get a goal back in the second half.

With nine minutes left, Jon Ustabasi’s header was tipped away off the line by York goalkeeper George Sykes-Kenworthy.
