Jamie Gullan fired a late winner as Raith Rovers beat Inverness 1-0 to climb top of the cinch Championship.

Former Hibernian striker Gullan struck the only goal in the 87th minute, while Raith were indebted to goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski as they extended their unbeaten league start to five matches.

Dabrowski made a string of fine first-half saves to keep Inverness at bay, holding early efforts from Billy Mckay and Nathan Shaw before Danny Devine’s effort for the visitors was ruled out for offside.

Dabrowski then denied Charlie Gilmour, pulled off an even better save to tip Max Anderson’s long-range effort over the crossbar and also kept out Shaw’s goalbound header.

Scott Brown blazed high and wide when well placed for Raith and Shaw pulled his effort off target for the visitors, before Gullan decided the contest with three minutes left, firing low into the bottom corner from the left edge of the penalty area.

Partick Thistle cruised to a 4-0 win at Ayr to go second in the Scottish Championship.

Steven Lawless’ brace along with goals from Brian Graham and Tomi Adeloye eased the visitors to a comfortable victory.

Graham’s close-range finish from Kerr McInroy’s pass opened the scoring after 73 seconds and the visitors never looked back.

They doubled their lead 11 minutes after the break when Lawless drilled in from 25 yards.

He made it 3-0 after 67 minutes when his deflected shot from the edge of the area found a way past Charlie Albinson.

Lawless then turned provider for Adeloye with 11 minutes left when the former Ayr man scored with his first touch.

Dundee United maintained their unbeaten start to the season and secured a 2-0 victory over Airdrie at Tannadice Park.

It did not take long for Dundee United to open the scoring and it was done inside four minutes when a well-worked move ended with Mathew Cudjoe curling home.

They almost doubled their advantage four minutes later when Louis Moult’s header at back post came crashing back off the woodwork.

The woodwork came to Airdrie’s rescue once again when Moult’s glancing header bounced off the post to keep the score 1-0.

Dundee United wrapped up the points in stoppage time as Kai Fotheringham pounced on a mistake from Joshua Rae and finished from just inside the Airdrie half to take home the points.

Arbroath sealed back-to-back wins for the first time this season with a 2-1 victory over Ayr.

Arbroath opened the scoring 21 minutes in after some neat link-up play with David Gold ended with Jay Bird finishing from close range.

Ayr were back on level terms on the stroke of half-time when Ahkeem Rose nodded home Logan Chalmers’ corner.

The hosts regained their advantage in superb fashion in the 82nd minute as Jermaine Hylton rocketed an overhead kick into the net to make it 2-1.

The away side pushed in search of an equaliser and thought they should have had a penalty with two minutes to go but handball claims were waved away by the referee.

Partick Thistle made it back-to-back wins as they came from behind to beat Morton 4-1 despite playing the closing stages with 10 men.

Morton took the lead in the 15th minute. Harry Milne brought down Jai Quitongo outside the area and Robbie Muirhead smashed the resulting free-kick into the bottom-left corner.

Partick levelled six minutes before the break when Steven Lawless’ superb first touch allowed him to race through on goal and slot home to make it 1-1.

And Thistle turned the game around with 20 minutes remaining when Brian Graham turned home after a knock-down from Scott Robinson.

Graham’s second goal in as many minutes made the points safe, and although Milne was sent off for a second yellow card, Partick added a fourth when Tomi Adeloye turned and fired home from close range.

Substitute Lewis Vaughan scored a late brace as Raith fought back to defeat 10-man Queen’s Park 3-2 and maintain their unbeaten start in the cinch Championship.

Rovers took an early lead through a diving header from Callum Smith as he dispatched Sam Stanton’s cross in the eighth minute.

Queen’s Park looked for a response as good work from Dominic Thomas saw Raith forced to clear their lines before Spiders keeper Callan McKenna saved as Jack Hamilton went through.

The visitors, who suffered a first league defeat at Partick Thistle last week, were reduced to 10 men in the 33rd minute when midfielder Will Tizzard was shown a red card for a professional foul on Smith as the Rovers striker looked to race clear.

Queen’s Park, who started the day top of the table, were back on level terms just after the hour when Jack Turner capitalised on a mistake by Raith keeper Maciej Dabrowski.

In the 73rd minute, Thomas volleyed the away side in front – but with three minutes left Vaughan nodded in Liam Dick’s cross and then found a dramatic winner in stoppage time.

Dunfermline’s Chris Hamilton scored an 80th-minute equaliser to deny Inverness a first win of the season.

Nathan Shaw fired Caley Thistle ahead via a post in the 12th minute and Charlie Gilmour twice went close from distance while Adam Brooks had a goal disallowed for offside as the hosts controlled the first half.

The Pars were brighter after half-time and Michael O’Halloran fired a shot across the face of goal, while Inverness forward Brooks was booked for going on to finish after again being whistled offside.

Harry Sharp saved from Caley substitute Keith Bray and just two minutes later Dunfermline were level as Hamilton headed in Owen Moffat’s cross.

Moffat drew a good save from Mark Ridgers but neither side could find a winner, meaning Inverness still prop up the cinch Championship with a solitary point.

Arbroath cruised past Greenock Morton 3-0 at Cappielow Park.

Arbroath started the better, with Michael McKenna converting a 20th-minute penalty given for handball to give the Lichties the upper hand.

Both sides had chances come their way, but neither managed to turn them to anything before the break.

It was Arbroath who struck again next, doubling their advantage in the 73rd minute through an own goal from Iain Wilson.

Two then became three as Arbroath managed to deliver a final blow to Morton in the third minute of injury time through Joao Balde who kept his composure.

Kevin Holt scored twice as Dundee United continued their unbeaten start to the Scottish Championship season with a 3-0 win at Ayr.

Charlie Albinson kept the Terrors at bay in the first half, producing saves to prevent the returning Ross Docherty and Louis Moult from scoring in quick succession.

Albinson denied Moult again but could not stop Dundee United from going ahead in the 58th minute when Holt headed in Declan Glass’ corner.

Four minutes later and Moult made it 2-0, latching on to a loose ball and lifting over Albinson.

Home striker Jack Young had an effort saved by Jack Walton before Holt sealed the win at the death with a close-range finish.

Raith Rovers condemned Dunfermline to their first cinch Championship defeat of the season after a 1-0 victory in the Fife derby at East End Park.

Dunfermline went close to opening the scoring in the 12th minute when Lewis McCann tested visiting goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski before Aaron Comrie hit a post with the rebound. From the resulting corner, Ewan Otoo flashed an effort wide.

Raith took the lead in the 36th minute when Sam Stanton glanced home Callum Smith’s cross for his first goal of the season.

Stanton almost doubled his and Raith’s tally seven minutes after the break but he was denied by a smart save by Dunfermline goalkeeper Harrison Sharp.

Otoo fired a late effort over the crossbar for Dunfermline as Ian Murray’s side held on for three points to remain unbeaten and climb up to third in the table.

Kerr McInroy scored twice as Partick Thistle secured a first win of the season with a 3-1 victory at home to Queen’s Park.

Partick scored twice in four first-half minutes to seemingly put them in control.

McInroy opened the scoring after 26 minutes from a Steven Lawless pass and Brian Graham doubled their advantage on the half-hour, with Lawless again the provider.

But the goal glut continued as Queen’s Park pulled one back 60 seconds later through Ruari Paton’s shot.

Thistle restored their two-goal cushion in the 57th minute when McInroy collected the ball and lifted a neat finish over the goalkeeper for his second of the game to secure the points.

Ten-man Airdrie held on to claim their second successive Scottish Championship win as they recorded a 2-1 victory over Inverness.

The hosts took an early lead following some good work from Lewis McGregor down the right as Caley defender Cameron Harper turned the ball into his own net.

Calum Gallagher doubled Airdrie’s lead just after the hour mark – with another helping hand from hard-working McGregor – as he picked out the bottom corner for his fourth goal from the last three games.

The Diamonds were reduced to 10 men five minutes after the break as Adam Frizzell was shown a second yellow card for a late challenge on Keith Bray, following his first-half caution for an off-the-ball trip.

Inverness made their pressure count and Nathan Shaw pulled one back from close range with 20 minutes remaining but the home side held on for maximum points as the visitors slipped to the bottom of the table.

Ruari Paton was once again Arbroath’s nemesis as his second-half strike helped Queen’s Park record a 1-0 win to continue their 100 per cent start to the Scottish Championship season.

The visiting Spiders, who had Paton to thank for last week’s winner when the teams met in Glasgow, made a sharp start and had a Patrick Jarrett goal ruled out for offside and a strong penalty claim waved away when Charlie Fox went down in the area.

It was not all one-way traffic as Aaron Steele’s header grazed the top of the crossbar for Arbroath but the decisive moment came in the 69th minute when Jack Spong put through Paton, who slotted through Derek Gaston’s legs.

Callan McKenna produced a superb save at the other end to keep out Jay Bird’s header before Tom Robson cleared off the line as Queen’s Park held on to secure their third successive win and send Arbroath spiralling to three defeats in a row.

Mathew Anim Cudjoe equalised deep into second-half stoppage time as Dundee United rescued a late point from a 1-1 Scottish Championship draw at home to Dunfermline.

The home side dominated the opening period and had numerous shots on goal but two long-range chances from Scott McMann were kept out before Tony Watt and Louis Moult saw efforts saved.

Terrors defender Kevin Holt blocked a Josh Edwards effort at the other end but the half ended goalless as Dunfermline began to boss possession.

The visitors broke the deadlock just after the hour mark as former Dundee striker Craig Wighton headed Edwards’ cross into the bottom corner.

Cudjoe hit the post and Kai Fotheringham fired the ball wide as United looked to pull one back late on, but Cudjoe made no mistake at the death as he curled an effort into the top corner from outside the box to earn a point and leave both sides with an unbeaten start.

Airdrie came from behind to pick up their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Partick Thistle.

James Lyon put the visitors ahead on 31 minutes as he fired in the rebound after Harry Milne’s shot.

Gabby McGill levelled the scores after 63 minutes with a close-range finish before Calum Gallagher’s powerful header secured victory eight minutes later.
