Jamaican sensation Alex Powell once again demonstrated his immense potential with three podium finishes in Round 4 of the 2025 Formula 4 Middle East Championship at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi recently.

Powell, who has been brimming with confidence, extended his rich vein of form with three outstanding performances that solidified his place among the championship's top contenders.

The 17-year-old driver set the tone early when he topped a free practice session ahead of his teammate Emanuele Olivieri. In qualifying, Olivieri edged out the competition in the first session with a 1:55.571 lap, but Powell responded in dominant fashion, clocking a blistering 1:55.330 in the second session to take pole position.

From there, Powell finished third on track in Race one but was promoted to second place after Olivieri received a 10-second penalty for a jump start.

In Race two, Powell, who started eighth due to the reverse grid format, skillfully carved his way through the field to secure third place, as several of his main title rivals failed to finish.

However, Powell seemingly saved his best for last, as he delivered a flawless performance from pole position to secure his third victory of the season.

With this latest hat trick of podiums, Powell has now amassed five consecutive podium finishes, including three wins since Round 3’s opening race, where an unfortunate puncture disrupted his momentum.

Over the last five races, he outscored all other drivers and currently sits third, some 62 points behind Olivieri in the championship standings, heading into the decisive final round at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar scheduled for February 26 to 28.

"Yeah, it was another successful weekend. It was good to be back on top at the end of it, especially after a bit of a tricky start, so it wasn’t smooth sailing, but everything turned out great,” Powell told SportsMax.Tv.

“We have a really good momentum going into the final round and great work ethic in the team, so I am very happy to be honest. We just need to continue working to build on this momentum; like I said, we still have another round to go, so the aim is to ensure we don’t lose this form because the championship is still up for grabs, so the aim is to give it our best shot,” he added.

Meanwhile, the JMMC lauded Powell’s performances.

“Congratulations to Powell for his remarkable achievements, and we wish him the very best as he takes on the final challenge of the season,” the JMMC said.
