Draymond Green hailed Steve Kerr as a coach who "changed everything" for the Golden State Warriors.
Kerr claimed a record-breaking victory on Saturday, as the Warriors beat the New York Knicks 97-94 at the Chase Center.
That brought up Kerr's 558th regular-season win in charge of Golden State, where he has been in post since 2014.
In the process, the 59-year-old surpassed Al Attles' franchise record, and was presented with the game ball by the Attles family.
Kerr has led the Warriors to four NBA titles, and was named the league's Coach of the Year in 2016.
And Green, who has been an integral part of Kerr's success, lauded the coach's impact.
"Oh, man, he changed everything," Green said, as reported by ESPN.
"He has been as important as anybody, what this organisation has become.
"Just the things that he's taught me about winning, you can't teach someone anything better than that, how to be a better winner.
"And just his temperament, the offense that he brought to this organisation, the atmosphere that he brought to this organisation, the family atmosphere. That was Steve bringing that."
Kerr put his success down to the strength of the Warriors' set up.
"It was a great moment being awarded the game ball by the Attles family," he said.
"It was really beautiful to be honoured by their presence, and obviously Al Attles is Mr. Warrior forever.
"The record, it's kind of surreal to even think that this could happen, but it's a reflection of our organisational strength, stability and a talent level over the last 11 years since I've been here.
"I'm incredibly lucky to be part of this organisation and part of this city and very humbled by the honour because of Al's greatness and what he means to the franchise."
Golden State won their seventh straight game, with Stephen Curry top-scoring with 28 points, two days after becoming the first player in NBA history with 4,000 3-pointers and one day on from his 37th birthday.
The Warriors are sixth in the Western Conference.
