Evan Mobley believes it is the togetherness of the Cleveland Cavaliers that has helped them go on a 16-game winning run.
Cleveland Cavaliers' Evan Mobley said that the team's record run of 16 wins on the trot is testament to their togetherness.
The Cavaliers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 133-124 on Friday to extend their winning streak to a franchise-record 16 games.
Mobley top-scored for the Cavaliers with 22 points and 11 rebounds, as a 44-point performance from Ja Morant proved fruitless for the Grizzlies.
Darius Garland also contributed 20 points and nine assists to Cleveland's latest victory.
"I think it's just a testament to how we're playing together," said Mobley after the game.
"Everyone's involved. We are just going out there playing our brand of basketball, not worried about the record necessarily, and it's just coming out this way."
Cavaliers guard Sam Merrill, meanwhile, highlighted the difficulty of going on such a long winning run.
"It's not easy," said Merrill. "It's not easy to win in this league at any level, especially on the road, and we've beaten some good teams as well during this little run here."
The Cavaliers sit top of the standings and became the first team to book their place in the NBA playoffs earlier this month.
De'Andre Hunter, who joined the franchise in February and has not lost a game in their colours, said one of the reasons for the impressive run is the Cavaliers' mental resilience.
"It takes mental toughness," said Hunter, who scored 18 points in 23 minutes off the bench.
"You know, the crowd is against you, the team is playing with a lot more energy since they're at home. But we come here with the mentality that 'no matter what it is - referees, fans, whatever – we're going to play hard, and that's exactly what we've been doing."
They will hope to extend their winning run to 17 games when they face the Orlando Magic next.
