Jamaica’s Danielle Noble and Shanniqua Williams took gold and silver in the Girls Under-20 High Jump on Monday’s final morning session at the 52nd CARIFTA Games in Port of Spain.
Both Noble and Williams had best clearances of 1.80m but Noble was the winner having cleared it on her first attempt while Williams needed two attempts.
They each had a clean card from 1.60m up to 1.76m where Noble blinked first, needing her second attempt to clear that height.
Both then cleared 1.78m at the first attempt before Williams needed her second attempt to clear 1.80m.
They both then had three unsuccessful attempts to clear 1.82m.
BVI’s Jah’kyla Morton was third with a best clearance of 1.70m.
