Waterhouse FC secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Dunbeholden at the Stadium East field on Sunday in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL).

The match was a roller-coaster affair, with Waterhouse taking the lead, losing it, and then staging a thrilling comeback. Andre Fletcher was the star for the Marcel Gayle-coached side, scoring twice to anchor the Drewsland-based team’s resurgence.

Fletcher opened the scoring in the 37th minute after Waterhouse had dominated the early proceedings. Atapharoy Bygrave squandered a golden opportunity to put them ahead earlier, missing an open goal in the third minute after rounding goalkeeper Romaine Hamilton. Fletcher’s goal came amidst relentless pressure, with his shot becoming stuck in a waterlogged goalmouth, forcing Hamilton into a costly error as he inadvertently redirected the ball into his own net.

Dunbeholden responded just before halftime. After Bygrave missed a penalty awarded for a foul on Martin Davis, Chantomoi Taylor capitalized on a loose ball from a deflected shot by Richard Brown to beat Kemar Foster, sending the teams into the break tied 1-1.

The visitors surged ahead in the 50th minute when Ricardo Thomas expertly curled a free kick into the net from 20 yards. Waterhouse, however, responded with determination. Fletcher restored parity in the 60th minute, calmly slotting home a pass from Bygrave. Nine minutes later, Leonardo Jebbison latched onto a through ball from Denardo Thomas and rifled a shot past Hamilton to complete the comeback.

Elsewhere in the JPL, Cavalier extended their dominance with a commanding 5-1 win over Molynes United, solidifying their position among the top contenders. Montego Bay United outpaced Tivoli Gardens 4-2 in a high-scoring affair, while Vere United edged out Chapelton 2-1. Portmore United and Racing shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

The JPL action continues today, with Mount Pleasant and Arnett Gardens looking to reclaim their positions in a tightly contested table.
