Jamaica produced a dominant 7-0 win over Dominica to move to the top of the table on day two of the ‘Jewels of the Caribbean’ Women’s U-20 football tournament in Trinidad & Tobago on Monday.
The Jamaicans, who drew their first game 1-1 against St. Vincent & the Grenadines on Sunday, opened the scoring at the Ato Boldon Stadium through Andrene Smith in the second minute.
Goals from Tiny Seaton (11’), Destiny Powell (17’) and Olivia Ashbourne (21’) meant the Jamaicans ended the first 45 minutes with a comfortable 4-0 advantage.
Alyssa Stephenson scored her second goal in as many games to make it 5-0 11 minutes into the second half while the final two goals came from Cassandra Smith in the 57th minute and Jaileah Cox-McPherson in the 67th minute.
In the second game of the day’s double header, Trinidad & Tobago’s ‘White Angels’ played out a 0-0 draw with St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
