The draft was conducted via a Zoom meeting and was monitored by CWI’s auditors KPMG to ensure that the process was carried out efficiently and smoothly.
Representatives of each franchise made two picks to bring their contracted squad of players to 15.
Nedd, a left-arm spinner from Guyana, was one of the leading performers for the West Indies at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in South Africa earlier this year. He will help bolster the Hurricanes’ bowling stocks and will bring the experience from the West Indies Emerging Players - winners of the Colonial Medical Insurance Super50 Cup last November.
Joining Nedd as a contracted player is his West Indies Under-19 captain Kimani Melius, who was picked up by the Windward Islands Volcanoes and fast bowler Jayden Seales who was contracted by the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force.
Both Melius and Seales were acquired ahead of the draft as pre-selected players by the respective franchises.
Additionally, two experienced players have found new franchises.
Kyle Hope, who played five Test matches and seven One-Day Internationals in 2017, has moved from Trinidad & Tobago Red Force to Barbados Pride.
Kevin Stoute, a former captain of Barbados Pride who has played 76 first-class matches since his debut back in 2007, will have a new home with the Windward Islands Volcanoes.
CWI’s Director of Cricket Jimmy Adams was happy that CWI was able to get the draft done despite the ongoing pandemic.
"I am pleased to have gotten the regional franchise draft completed,” he said.
“Franchises can now focus on implementing post-lockdown training to gradually build towards their full programs. Obviously, we are all hopeful that we will soon be given the all-clear by the respective Governments to resume full franchise operations," he said.

Hetmyer scored an unbeaten 67 off 59 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes, as he partnered with Tevin Imlach for an unbroken second-wicket stand of 93 to helped propel Guyana to 155 for 1 from 28.4 overs in reply to the Windwards’ 153 all out.
Imlach, who scored an unbeaten 37, shared an opening stand of 62 with Chanderpaul Hemaj, who made 41.
Alick Athanaze was the lone wicket-taker for the Windwards with 1-130 from his seven overs.
Earlier, Man-of-the-Match Keon Joseph took 4-24 and Hemraj 2-11 as the Windwards were bundled out for 153 in 45 overs.
Only Kevin Stoute, who scored 41 and Emmanuel Stewart 46 offered any real resistance to the Guyana bowling attack.
Stoute and Stewart put on 60 for the fifth wicket after which Stewart and Kevin Cottoy mounted a 39-run stand for the sixth. Cottoy made 27.
The teams will meet again in the second semi-final on Thursday.
Stoute scored 86 and Ambris 70 and their third-wicket partnership of 119 laid the foundation for the Windwards’ 284 all out off 49.2 overs.
They came together after Kimani Melius and Desron Maloney were already back in the pavilion midway the eighth over with 40 runs on the board.
When Ambris departed for 70 that included eight fours and a six, Stoute and Emmanuel Stewart put on 68 for the fourth wicket when Stoute got out in the 42nd over. Stewart was out five balls later but Roland Cato (11) and Rayon John (15) helped push the final score to 284.
Bowling for the Leewards Quinton Boatswain took 4 -45 from his 10 overs while Sheeno Berridge 3-65 and Hayden Walsh 3-79 provided support.
Chasing 285, the Leewards were dismissed for 253 in 49.3 overs despite Kumar’s 112 from 106 balls that included nine fours and two sixes.
He put on 43 for the third wicket with Ross Powell, who made 46 and 79 for the fifth wicket with Montcin Hodge who made 28 but there were never enough partnerships to take Leewards to the target as Preston McSween, Larry Edward, Ray Jordan and Kerron Cottoy each took two wickets to stymie the run chase.
On Monday, the Guyana Jaguars will face the Barbados Pride at the same venue.
After scoring a paltry 209 in their first innings, the Pride hit back by skittling out the Red Force for just 175 before returning to the crease to rack up 342 and put pressure on the visitors who are now struggling at 48-4.
When the Pride bat for a second time, Kraigg Brathwaite scored 58, Sheyne Moseley had a wonderful knock of 155, and Kevin Stoute chipped in with an important 55.
Jeremy Solozano, with an even 50, was the only person to lay down a significant mark on the scoreboard in the Red Force’s 175.
On Sunday morning, Joshua Da Silva, on 23, and Yannic Cariah, on 12, will resume batting for the Red Force with Solozano, 5, Yannick Ottley, 1, Jason Mohammed, 5, and Denesh Ramdin, 0, all back in the pavilion.
Kemar Roach, 2-25, and Chemar Holder, 2-13, have been the destroyers so far.
Roach and Holder had bagged two wickets when they bowled to the Red Force the first time out, providing good support to Keon Harding, who had ended with 5-57.
